Georgia Bandits: Bandit History

How We Got Here
The Georgia Bandits were formed during the Spring of 2003 with a talented group of 8 year olds from Barrow County, GA. Originally called the Victory Bandits, the team got to know one another during the fall of 2003. During the Spring of 2004 the Bandits played their first full season of elite travel baseball together. The team fared well in their inaugural season, finishing as the USSSA 9U Major State Runner-ups. To finish our 9U season the Bandits traveled to St. Petersburg, FL for the Barrett Fletcher World Series. After an off season filled with rafting trips, Halloween parties and other activities used to build a strong bond among teammates, the Bandits went to work in October of 2004 to prepare for the 2005 season. 2005 was a special season for the Bandits as they won the Triple Crown 10U State Championship and finished the season with a 47-18 record. In 2005 the 10U Bandits traveled to top tournaments in the southeast to play the best competition. At one point during the 2005 season the Bandits were ranked 9th in the nation in USSSA. The Bandits completed the 2005 season by traveling to the home of baseball, Cooperstown, NY, to play at the beautiful Cooperstown Dreams Park. Although some of the faces have changed over the years, the mission of the Bandits has remained the same. The Bandits remain dedicated to developing it's players and preparing them for the next level of baseball and for the next level of life. The Bandits current roster now consists of players from Barrow, Gwinnett, Hall, and Walton counties.
