Executive Meeting Minutes - February 10 2009.

 

Some GOALS discussed by Executive

 

    1. Improve quality / relevance of sponsors and sponsor relationships
    2. Improve our league ‘image’ with players and community
    3. Grow and nurture our Captain base
    4. Grow our player base
    5. Grow number of teams over 3 years
    6. Increase Fun factor of our constituents (on and off field)

 

 

Registration dates

    1. Monday February 23 Captains conference call at 8pm (number to be sent out)
    2. Monday March 2 is 1st registration and collection night 7-9 KSC
    3. Monday March 8 is 2nd registration and collection night 7-9 Local’s
    4. Sunday March 30 is 3rd registration and collection night 7-9 Broadways Stittsville
    5. A 4th date may be added

 

ACTIONS

  1. Reaching out to Captains 1 on 1 before con-call [President]
  2. Reaching out to Umpire coordinator and/or umps [President]

 

DESCISIONS

  1. Executive to support captains with sponsors and sponsorships (Objective will be to make this an executive job in years to come)

 

  1. Captains to support executive on collecting players registration and recruiting (objective will be to grow player base)

 

  1. Established 2 year (discount) registration option for new and existing members.

 

  1. Growing player base by ‘swelling’ team size (objective swell teams until we can create more teams)  no spares list as all registered players will be put on a team

 

  1. The executive will meet with each team (as a team) at a social function once during the season to allow open discussion from the members to the executive

 

DISCUSSIONS

  1. New constitution highlights – Executive roles realigned, Communication Role created on executive, Associate Captain formalized – Objective increased clarity

 

  1. Explored Re-naming the league (objective to make it more reflective of geography, POSSIBLE: Kanata Fastball, or West Ottawa Fastball, or Ottawa West Fastball)

 

  1. Explore our exposure and link to Community of Stittsville (objective to increase player base, sponsor base, POSSIBLE sponsorship of youth team)

 

  1. Explored desire to create relationship to woman’s league (objective increased exposure to community, bigger bang for our sponsors for events POSSIBLE Woman’s All-star team vs GCMFL Rookie game during our tournament)

 

  1. Explored tournament FUN factor (objective better league exposure/brand, diamond location, sponsor support, POSSIBLE fastball exhibition, Rookie game (vs Woman’s league Allstar’s))

 

  1. Explored registration FUN-Day  or winter FUN-Day (objective more inter-league events, better interest/exposure in registration POSSIBLE Team snow baseball, Team snow golf, Team Darts DAY)

 

  1. Met Paul and Ron the Management of Darcy Mcgee’s (Kanata)
