Sunday, December 13 Hockey Day in Navan The Navan Memorial Centre is registered in the Kraft Hockeyville 2010 contest. If Navan wins, the arena would receive $100 000 for upgrades and an NHL pre-season game would be played in the arena in the fall of 2010. Many kids in the area that have been to the Navan arena with their family to either play hockey, skate during public skating or watch a Cumberland Junior "A" Grads game. Your support to the quest for the Hockeyville title would definitely be greatly appreciated by players of all ages!Anyone wanted to help should go to www.cbc.ca/hockeyville , select Navan Memorial Centre and submit a hockey story and a photo. They will judge our hockey community on the following criteria: community spirit, passion for hockey and originality- the reason we are Kraft Hockeyville 2010. Of course, the more stories the better the chances we have of being one of the twelve finalists. Deadline to submit a story is January 18th, 2009.On Sunday December 13th, we will be hosting Hockey Day in Navan. The community is invited to attend the public skating from 1 – 2:20pm then cheer the Cumberland Junior “A” Grads against the Kanata Stallions. A “Navan is Hockeyville” banner will be on hand for everyone to sign. It will then be displayed in the arena for the duration of our quest. You are welcomed to wear any hockey jersey on this day! Parking Impacts at Local Arenas Please be advised that as a result of the recent temporary H1N1 clinics that have been set up at various sporting venues across the city, please note that in most cases the parking lots are filled to capacity. We suggest you take this into consideration when making your trip to these various arenas.
