The GCGH Announces it's 2009-2010 Season Registration Fees
April 17, 2009 The GCGH Board of Directors has finalized its financial analysis for the 2009-2010 season. As a result of increasing ice costs being incurred next year as well as other factors, the registration fees for 2009-2010 season will be as follows: House League $500 Tier 1 Competititve $800 ($675 + $125 dryland component) Tier 2, 3, 4 Competitive $675 Registration for 2009-2010 will open after the April 2009 Tier 1 Tryouts have been completed. More details of what will be included in the 2009-2010 registration fees will be provided at the information sessions that are being scheduled with parents prior to each of the competitive tryouts and prior to the house league balancing. Please watch for GCGH membership notices regarding these meetings. 2009-2010 GCGH Tier 2, 3 & 4 Tryout Registration Now Open
Registration Now Open: 2009-2010 GCGH Tier 2, 3 & 4 Tryout Registration
Online registration for these tryouts is now being accepted until 23:59 on August 15, 2009. All registration must be completed online with payment prior to tryouts. Registration closes at midnight on Saturday, August 15, 2009. On-site registration will not be accepted.
All players must bring a signed waiver form and permission to skate form (if applicable) in order to participate in the tryouts. All of the necessary information and forms can be found on the GCGH web site at www.gcgh.ca and select Forms and Documents on the left menu. The date for the goalie tryouts is still to be determined, but online registration is still required for the goalies. Please check the GCGH web site periodically for the updated information.

Sunday, April 19th 11:00 am to 1:00 pm Orleans Recreation Center Volunteers: We are looking for a couple of volunteers to help wit this short but very busy time. If you can help, please contact Craig Hale (chale@rogers.com) Sweaters: Please ensure they are washed, in good repair and have all the sponsorship and name bars removed. The complete set must be returned. We will not take sweaters from individual players. Goalie Equipment: Please ensure the equipment is returned clean and in good condition. Please point out any repairs that are needed prior to returning the equipment. ** All goalie equipment must be returned to inventory. If a player is looking to rent equipment for summer hockey school, they will need to sign out the equipment and provide another deposit. Pucks and pylons: Please ensure you return the same number of pucks and pylons you were given. While not required, replenishing the first aid kits would be considerate for the next team. Volunteers are the heart and sole of the GCGH and without people like you we would not exist. There are many different ways of Volunteering in the GCGH. Below is a link to several categories of volunteer opportunities. This form is set up to allow only one selection in some categories and multiple selections in others. Submitting your interest does not commit you to any positon. It only commits you to receive a call to discuss your interests and how you can best help the GCGH. The application form for 2009-10 coaches has now been updated and is available for coaches interested in applying for the 2009-10 season. Applications for competitive coaches are requested to be submitted by March 15th, 2009. Team Web Sites
Team Webmasters, For access to administer team websites, please email the GCGH webmaster. (Click on "Webmaster" in left pane) You will be granted permissions to administer your site (within GCGH's website.) Alternatively, if you already have a site, your site can be referenced as a link within GCGH website.
Eligibility of GCGH Registration Fees for the Children's Fitness Tax Credit (CFTC)
*** Under the definitions of the Department of Finance and the Canada Revenue Agency, all or a portion of registration fees paid to GCGH for 2008-09 programs are eligible for the new Children's Fitness Tax Credit (CFTC). The non-refundable tax credit allows parents to claim a maximum of $500 per year for eligible fees paid for each child who is under 16 at any time during the year. Claims for the tax credit are for the 2008 income tax year and cover any fees paid effective January 1, 2008. The refund period is based on when the fees are paid, and not when the activity takes place. GCGH will therefore issue the applicable receipt electronically between December 2008 and February 2009 for registration fees paid in full for the following programs: - 2008-09 Season Registration - 2008 Summer Shinny Registration - 2008 Summer Skills Program Registration For more information on the Children's Fitness Tax Credit, please click here and here.
