GBSF / Green high school baseball and softball clinic
Ross,
Thank you for your vote of confidence in our players and staff; it is certainly a privilege for our students and coaches to be working with the youth in Green. We are proud of our student athletes and are glad they represented our school and community in such a positive manner. In today’s society it is important that we develop young people that can contribute and give back to their community. Once again thank you for the kind words and looking forward to continuing our relationship with the GBSF.

Dear Mr. Nutter, Nicklos, and Pfaff:
This past Saturday, the Green HS varsity baseball and softball teams and coaches conducted clinics for the youth program in Green. The Green Baseball / Softball Federation (GBSF) has over 650 players total and approximately 240 attended these clinics. I’m writing to let you know what a positive experience this was for all our players, coaches and parents that attended. I had many coaches that made comments to me on how well run this clinic was and how much they learned. I also had many parents come up to me and tell me what a wonderful job the high school players did and how respectful and patient they were with their sons/daughters. Coach Tharp and the girl’s varsity team ran their clinic from 9am till noon while Coach Wallace and the boy’s varsity team ran theirs from 1pm till 4pm. We were able to utilize both the GHS main and auxiliary gyms to teach the youth players the skills of baserunning, sliding, fielding, throwing, bunting, and hitting. The youth players then performed these skills under the watchful eye of each varsity player during a rotation schedule for each skill station. I and the GBSF coaches visited every skill station that the high school players ran and asked questions to different varsity players as they coached the youth players. Every varsity player explained the skill and why it was beneficial to practicing it. The players were respectful, courteous, and really were subject matter experts when explaining the skills and drills. I want you to know that these players are a great representation of how a Green HS student-athlete should represent their team and school. These high school players certainly are role models for the youth in Green. About half way through each clinic, all the GBSF coaches met with Coach Tharp and Coach Wallace. These breakout sessions were extremely helpful as their insights into coaching, teaching techniques, and philosophy during game situations allow us to prepare players for the Freshman, JV and Varsity levels. I have always found that good teams are a direct reflection of the coaching staff. I want you to know that these coaches have done an outstanding job in helping to build a quality program but more importantly quality student-athletes. They all represent Green HS in a way of which we as Green residents can be very proud. I want to congratulate you all on setting the foundation to producing exceptional students, athletes, and future leaders in our community.
Sincerely,
Ross Gamby
GBSF President
