Welcome to GBSF.....Building Character through Athletics in Green since 1958.

GBSF is the only Baseball/Softball organization serving Green area residents for over 58 years!

Post season and All-Star play for both Baseball and Softball has concluded! 



The  July 2016 travel baseball tryout dates have been set! These tryouts are for the 2017 season with age groups as follows:


9u: 9 years old before May 1st or 9 years old after May 1st and entering 3rd grade this fall

10u: 10 years old before May 1st or 10 years old after May 1st and entering 4th grade this fall

11u:  11 years old before May 1st or 11 years old after May 1st and entering 5th grade this fall

12u: 12 years old before May 1st or 12 years old after May 1st and entering 6th grade this fall

13u: 13 years old before May 1st or 13 years old after May 1st and entering 7th grade this fall

14u: 14 years old before May 1st or 14 years old after May 1st and entering 8th grade this fall


Tryout dates/times/locations are as follows

9U: Thursday, July 21 from 6:00p to 8:00p at GB 4 (GB = Greensburg Park)

10U: Saturday, July 23rd  10:00a-12:00p  at GB4

11U: Thursday, July 14 from 6:00p to 8:00p at GB 1

12U: Sunday, July 17 from 2:00p to 4:00p at GB 1

13U: Sunday, July 24 from 4:00p to 6:00p at GB 1

14U: Saturday, July 23 from 4:00p to 6:00p at GB 2

NOTE: Any player interested in attending a tryout session but will be on vacation must contact Scott Galayda at to sign up for "makeup" tryouts!

Rainout Information

The City of Green has implemented a new system to notify leagues, coaches, umpires and parents about field closures. The new system is called Nixle. The Nixle system , and the City's Facebook page are the only to methods to find out about closures. We urge all parents to sign up! The direction are as follows;

 Nixle text 888-777 enter GREENOH. Once a response comes back, enter GRNBASEBALL or GRNSOFTBALL.  This will inform all coaches, parents, umpires if a specific field is closed.

About GBSF: Green Baseball/Softball Federation has been operating as a 501c3 volunteer based organization for more than 53 years in the city of Green. We play under the PONY (Protect Our Nations Youth) rules, which most baseball & softball players in the U.S. participate under. PONY rules are more like MLB rules and teach children to learn more of the game while they also play on more realistic field dimensions. There IS a difference in baseball/softball organizations in Green and only GBSF has the long standing history of serving Green as well as High School level coaching input and clinics. We provide the best baseball and softball instruction to the youth (ages 4 - 18) of Green and the security of thorough background checks for all Head Coaches. Our revenue from registration stays in Green and goes directly to cover the cost of equipment, uniforms, umpires, and to benefit the GBSF registered players in Green! No funds go to a National organization under GBSF. Our clincs are held in March, practices begin in April with games taking place staring the first week in May and running through June.

This site has been created to provide more information about our organization and help communication with the community of Green. Please enjoy the site and contact us if you have any comments or questions. Please feel free to become a member of the site and use the message board. This could be a good way for the community to discuss issues relating to the play of baseball and softball in Green. There is no charge to become a member.


The purpose of this Federation is to promote, supervise and conduct a baseball and softball program for the benefit of the boys and girls of the City of Green who are between the ages of 4 and 18, inclusively, whose parents or other lawfully appointed guardians are (1) a resident for voting purposes in Green, or (2) have a principal place of employment in Green or (3) are otherwise required to pay Green tax levies or assessments.

GBSF will promote, and require good sportsmanship, good competitive team spirit, fair play and organized and supervised use of the children's time and energy.
