Prepstar Tryouts for our Summer teams will be held on Sunday 11/22/09 at 1:00 pm at Western Guilford High School in Greensboro - we are looking for 2010 through 2014 grads to play on our showcase teams. All players must be extremely talented and be willing and committed to our team with a #1 goal of playing College Baseball!!!
Tryouts are free of charge if you register in advance by emailing - Coach Tony at t888sutphin@msn.com - please email the following information - email, name, grad year, address, cell phone, height, weight, high school, high school coach, past summer coaches, primary position, secondary position, gpa, sat, class rank, arm speed (mph), 60 time, playing resume and highlights.
Walkups will be accepted the day of the tryouts, but registration will be $ 20.00 cash for walkups. Returning players do not have to attend, but are welcome if they would like to work out.
This tryout will be held rain or shine, if inclement weather tryout will be moved inside to Greensboro Batting Center - any schedule changes will be posted on this website.
Next summer we will have 3 teams, based on how many dedicated players we can get that we feel can play in college. Please email your interest, rosters will be in place by Jan 1st, 2010, and we will post a tenative schedule and player fees shortly. Thanks, Tony

WE WILL HAVE TEAMS BASED ON THE NUMBER OF DEDICATED PLAYERS, ELIGIBLE PLAYERS WILL BE 2010, 2011, 2012, AND 2013 GRADS - WE WILL PLAY EVERY WEEKEND FROM JUNE 1ST THROUGH THE 1ST OF AUGUST (THIS INCLUDES TAKING A 17U AND 18U TEAM TO WORLD WOOD BAT AT EAST COBB) WE WILL BE OFF THE WEEKEND OF THE STATE GAMES. IF SELECTED FOR SUMMER TEAMS, YOU WILL BE REQUIRED TO BE AT ALL TOURNAMENTS AND BE AVAILABLE TO PITCH. SO YOU CAN PLAY ON ANOTHER TEAM DURING THE WEEK, BUT YOU MUST BE READY TO PITCH AND PLAY EACH WEEKEND. PLEASE LET ME KNOW IF YOU WANT TO BE CONSIDERED FOR A SPOT ON OUR SUMMER TEAMS. WE WILL NOT HAVE OPEN TRYOUTS, BUT WILL USE THE INDIVIDUAL SHOWCASES AS A TRYOUT FOR ANYONE THAT IS INTERESTED.
ECU ROYAL AND ORANGE TEAM HIGHLIGHTS - Gm 1 for Royal - Big 12-4 win over Yak Baseball. Duncan Everett and Andrew Madden combined for 9 innings of solid work on the mound. Leading hitters were Jacob Nunn who continued his hot hitting with 2 more hits, Kyle Miller also added 2 hits. Andrew Madden had the only extra basehit with a double missing a wood bat bomb by a couple of feet.
Gm 2 for Royal - a 5-3 win. Dylan Thompson was solid on the mound going 6 innings in the win. Tommy Nagle picked up the save before the rains came. Leading at the plate was Sawyer Highfill with two hits, wood bats have definitely slowed down our offensive highlights.
Gm 3 - Orange - Rains held off long enough but the bats still were sluggish as the Orange team lost 5-2. Ben Schmucker belted an early double and Robert Deluca added a late inning double as the orange team only mustered 5 hits in the loss.
Gm 4 - Orange - Big 2-1 win over Rock Solid (team coached by former Red Sox Trot Nixon). Evan Orenstein and Brian Connolly dominated on the hill in a well played 9 inning game. Corey McKinney led off the 7th with a big hit, and scored when Tiger Miller and Adam Kirkpatrick had back to back singles to provide the two runs needed to win. Great defensive play in this game including a diving catch by Cal Sutphin and a near inning ending double play.
Gm 5- Orange and R Braves 10's played flawless defensively and on the hill as they played 9 inning game to 0-0 tie!! - Pat Martin, Robert Deluca, and Casey Jones combined on the shutout for the Orange, highlight of this game was Landon Odell who missed a walkoff homer by 5 feet foul!!
Gm 6 - Royal - no comment!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ORANGE TEAM HIGHLIGHTS -9/12/09 - 9/13 - Heat Showcase - Metal bats - Game 1 - Sat - 11:30 am at Wilkes Complex vs Heat 11's - Highlights - Great pitching by Landon ODell and Zac Joyce lead us to 14-0 Win!! Multiple hits by Cal Sutphin, 1b, 2b, Corey McKinney, Pat Martin - 2 hr's, 1b, Trey Johnson 2b, 1b, and Mitchell Turner, 1b, 2b.
Game 2 - Sat - 2:00 pm at Wilkes Complex vs. Elite Baseball - Trey Johnson finished up a pretty good Saturday at 5 for 5, with 3 2b's and a home run. Multiple hits by Evan Orenstein, Landon Odell, and Zac Joyce
Game 3 - Sun - 11:00 am at Watuaga High School vs. Megastars 16's - Brian Connolly and Duncan Everett pitched a tough game for GBC - Cal Sutphin got scoring going in 1st with line drive bomb to left center. Corey McKinney had a big double. Pat Martin stayed hot adding two singles, Stefan Jordan, Zac Joyce (2b), and Elliott Slack also had key hits.
Game 4 - Sun - 4:30 pm at Watuaga High School vs. South Charlotte Panthers 2010's - Evan Orenstein pitched a great game against a great team with a lot of D1 players infront of scouts for UNC Asheville and App State. Mike Whited got rolling with two hits 1b, 2b, Zac Joyce had a big 3 run homer, and Adam Kirkpatrick had a 2b for GBC.
Richmond Highlights Game 1 - Saturday 2:00 pm vs. Barnstormers - Matt Wilson pitched 4 solid innings in a tough 10-8 loss. Trey Johnson continued to be perfect - as he is now 8-8 with two hr's, and three doubles in three games this fall. Evan Orenstein also has two hits including a opposite field 3 run bomb. Corey McKinney also added multiple hits going 2-4.
Game 2 - Sunday 8:30 am vs. R Braves West - Evan Orenstein and Pat Martin provided the pitching as GBC pounded out a 12-5 win. Trey added two more doubles before making his first out of the fall season - great start Trey!!!!! Corey McKinney stayed hot with another multiple hit game, and Pat Martin had two big hits in front of some scouts - hopefully offers will be rolling in for Pat very soon!!!! Brock Hudgens had a great game going 3-3 with a bomb to center!!!! Mitchell Turne got rolling with two hits.
Game 3 - Sunday 2:00 pm at VCU vs. Canes 2012's - Brian Connolly pumped fastballs for 4 innings at 87-89 mph to lead GBC to another 12-5 win. Cal Sutphin was 3-4 with a double, Trey Johnson, Landon ODell and Elliott Slack also had mulitiple hits in the win.
WHITE TEAM HIGHLIGHTS - Game 1 Saturday 9/5 9:00 am at Pfeiffer University vs Prolific Power - Highlights -Andrew Madden started on mound and threw well, many defensive lapses though. Leading hitters were Caleb McCann who had two sharpe singles. Nusdeo, Royster, Shaw, and Uhlig added the only other hits for this game.
Game 2 Saturday 9/5 11:30 am at Pfeiffer University vs. Dugout - Patrick Nusdeo started and Kyle Miller finished on the hill and they both did their parts to keep Dugout at bay, but bats again did not have much life. Caleb McCann continued hitting the ball hard and picked up another single. Seth O'Fallon led off the game with a hit and great baserunning enabled him to score the games first run.
Game 3 Sunday 9/6 4:30 pm at Pfeiffer University vs. Anglers - Great pitching by Seth O'Fallon, Tashe Miller, Caleb McCann, and Cal Sutphin on day two - very well played game but hitting is just not there yet. Kyle Miller hit the ball hard weekend and finally had one find a hole and Will Shaw got his second hit of the weekend, but that was it only two hits today!!
