VANQUISH: TO PROVE CONVINCINGLY SUPERIOR IN COMPETITION
Welcome to the NEW Organization site for The Georgia Vanquish. We hope you will enjoy your visit with us as we intend to provide you with some key information about our organization and its' amazing athletes.
Our young ladies are dedicated, driven and determined to succeed at everything they do. Whether it is softball, school or community involvement our athletes are determined to be the best. The mission of the Georgia Vanquish organization is to help guide these young ladies in their endeavors to reach their full potential in every area of their lives. The coaching staff is focused on developing these young athletes leadership skills, social activities and academics. We stress a TEAM atmosphere where no one player is more important than the other and everyone has the opportunity to challenge each others positions for playing time. It is our goal to make sure all of these athletes have the skills needed to move on to the next level and to provide them with the leadership to get there.
Our motto is "3-D Dedication, Determination & Desire" and sportsmanship is a key part of being a Team on and off the field. We expect good sportsmanship not only from the athletes but the coaches and parents as well. When our parents and athletes talk about the Georgia Vanquish teams we want them to show their pride and walk with their heads held high. Win or lose sportsmanship will carry you through life.
You will be hard pressed to find a better group of parents than what we have in this organization and the level of commitment not only from the athletes but also from the coaches and parents. This organization is truly a family. If you are interested in knowing more please feel free to contact our President Brett Bunch at 770-315-2010.

With only weeks away before the first Vanquish team hits the field for a tournament things are lokking really great for our teams. This year we will field three teams from the Vanquish organization. These teams have been working all winter preparing for what looks to be a strong tournament schedule for each one.
Our 12U team has moved up to the 14U level and will once again be led by head coach Pearl Kidd. The talent this team returns will be a force in the 14U ranks even though they will be a first year team. Pearl and her coaching staff have put together a very aggressive tournament schedule for the team including trips to Alabama for the Viper Memorial, Colorado for the Sparkler and will play the ASA qualifiers and state. This should be a challenging season for these young ladies but we are all confident in their abilities to step to the plate.
Gene Newby will take our 16U team into battle as the head coach. This is our 14U team that moves up from the 14's. This will also be a first year team in their age group but these young ladies will be in their second and in some cases third year together. They have an exciting schedule ahead of them as well also going to Alabama for the Viper Memorial and will travel all across Georgia and into Tennessee as well.
We are excited and proud to welcome Adam Loggins and his new 10U team to the Vanquish family this year. Adam has a strong coaching backgroud and is bringing some imperssive young ladies with him to our organization. They will focus their efforts on becoming a force in the 10U ranks and develop their skills to continue their growth on the travel front. We are honored to welcome all of these athletes, coaches and parents to our family.

With the 2006-2007 season coming to a close it is time for us to look back and evaluate the year.
We grew a lot this year not only in the number of teams we have but also in respect for the play of those teams. Every age group had success and we were blessed by making it through most of the season without serious injuries on our teams. We did have some go down, Lacey. Mary and Katie from the 12's were hurt for part of the season, Jennete from the 14U White hurt her ankle early but made a good come back and the 16's lost Nikki for 6 weeks when she rolled her ankle but the 14U Purple suffered the worse lose when Darien broke her ankle but we are hoping she will be back with renewed excitment for our next season.
We had some great parents supporting us again this year. The success of any program depends on the willingness for parents to be flexable and to trust in the leadership of their teams. Our parents were there every step of the way and from all of the coaches and the athletes thank you for your dedication to the sport.
We had some solid success on the field as well with three of our teams going to World Series tournaments to finish off their year. The 12U White went to the USFA World Series in Florida and also played in the USFA National tournament. They got their first taste of overnight travel at the Birmingham Viper Memorial this year and just grew every week to become a strong team that people don't take for granted anymore. The 14U White played in the ISA World Series in Myrtle Beach and had some fun times there as well. They did mostly local travel this year but are looking forward to hitting the curcit next season. The 14U Purple went to Florida and played their hearts out in the USFA World Series and came away with memories they will carry for a life time. Our 16U Purple did a little traveling this year playing in Chattanooga, Columbus for two showcase tournaments, Birmingham, and traveling to Denver for the Sparkler tournament where they placed 9th out of 130 teams from across the country. These young ladies also got their first taste of Southern California softball.
I wanted to thank all of our coaches and their staff for the hundreds of hours of practice and tournament time they put in. From planning their practices to getting hotels to making sure the girls were learning the game they work every week to accomplish these goals.
Mike Garland with the 10U made good strides and finished the season strong. He and his staff took a group of young ladies that had never played travel and made a good showing.
Pearl Kidd and her staff took the 12U program and made a name for these young ladies. The efforts put in by these athletes their parents and the coaches were all on the same page and a smooth flow for the year. These young ladies and coaches will be moving up to 14U next season and will be a force to pay attention to.
William Morris took the 14U White team and with his staff made a good run at the season making memories all the way that these young ladies can keep forever.
Larry Callahan never lost focus of what he wanted to do with the 14U Purple team. These young ladies had a solid season finishing in the top three of 90% of the tournaments they played in. These guys worked hard every week and always kept their eyes on the prize.
I can't say enough about the coaches I had the honor of coaching with this year. Jack Ridings has been with me since the beginning and he still hasn't killed me yet. We also had solid support from Chuck Roddy, Craig Delay and practice support from J R Merendo. These guys were the backbone of this team and they made it easy for me to be a head coach, so thank you all.
Thanks to all of the Vanquish family for their support and for making this organization what it is and for taking it to new heights. With your continued efforts we will continue to grow and the athletes will continue to get better and better.
Sincerely,
Brett Bunch

Coach Jack and I spent the past weekend with the Rockdale Rally doing our team building program and it was a great success. This team has some outstanding young ladies and a solid group of coaches leading them. This program works and we will continue to do ours for the organization for years to come. Thanks to the Rockdale Rally for their faith and trust in us to put this program on for them we wish them much success in the future. Here is what their head coach had to say about the weekend.
"The coaching staff and players of the 16U Rockdale Rally want to thank Brett and Coach Jack for a wonderful, positive weekend. We attended one of their Team Building Camps at Unicoi State Park this weekend. What a positive turnaround in our girls attitude and team bonding it made. I think it finally hit home with the girls what we have preaching to them by "seeing" what working as a team, believing in leadership and using their minds to get that final outcome of success. They now know what 90% mental actually means.
I would strongly recommend this camp to any and all teams out there.
Brett, I will carry this with me for the rest of my coaching career and it will definitely have an impact on the rest of my life. I can't thank you and Jack enough."
Ken Herbert
Thanks Ken for your trust and Jack and I will carry the friendships we developed and the overall experience with us as well.

The athletes clinic we developed and ran for the SCRA Softball teams was a great success. There were over 50 athletes taking part in the clinic and the 16U Vanquish athletes did a great job working with these young kids on fundamentals of throwing, fielding and hitting. I was very proud of all of our athletes and the way you all worked so hard and were focused to help these young ladies get better. It is always a positive thing to share your talents with others and to give of yourself the way you young ladies did.
I also want to thank Coach Jack and Coach Tom for all of the time and effort they put into this clinic in making it such a success. These gentlemen are not only dedicated to the success of their daughters but to the success of each athlete on our team, in the Vanquish organization and those of our home park SCRA. Thanks for all you do.
We had support from outside the organization as well from Cherokee Batting Cage owners, Stan, Don and Deb. Don was a tremendous help at our hitting stations along with Stan as well and Deb gave of her time as well in the pitching sections. We also would like to thank the board of SCRA for asking us to do the clinic and for their support of it. Thank you all.
Finally, I want to thank our parents for putting on a very successful yard sale in efforts to raise funds for our team. These parents organized and ran the yard sale for us and gave of themselves to help all of us have more opportunities to play and for that I say THANK YOU!!!
Thanks to everyone!!!!
Coach Brett
