Out for the Season
You are playing basketball in the off season. That large post is not light on her feet and she comes crashing down into your knee. You are hurt and everyone in the gym knows it because the scream is still bouncing off the walls as you lie there. There is no pain like it. Thirty minutes later you are at the emergency room (usually by ambulance). The Doctors have done an x-ray and they say nothing is broken, but then comes those dreaded words "It appears it might be an ACL injury." More and more girls are ending up in this spot. For more information there are plenty of internet sites, but here is one I like. Plenty of pictures and straight forward discussion.
