TEACHER OF THE GAME Coach "D" recently received the 2009 Lewis Hine Award which is a national award acknowledging her service to young people.
COACH CALVIN GOSS Co-Head Coach - 16-Under Elite 404-630-6597 Coach Goss has more than 17 years of basketball coaching experience and has been a part of the Georgia Pearls organization for the last 8 years. Coach Goss places a lot of focus on individual skill development and teaching players the fundamentals that will help them to grow as basketball players and be able to perform at a high level whether they are playing at the recreation, AAU, high school or collegiate level. Coach Goss is a firm believer that athletics gives our youth an opportunity to really grow as people and become more productive adults. He believes the lessons learned in sports parallel the lessons learned in life. He hopes to be a positive role model for all of his players through his teachings and his examples on and off the court, forming positive and life lasting relationships with all of his players.Coach Calvin Goss is an Atlanta native who attended Southwest High School (Atlanta) before going to Johnson C. Smith University in Charlotte, NC on a football scholarship where he earned a BS degree in Computer Science. Not long after returning to Atlanta, coach Goss changed his focus from football to basketball. Coach Goss is married (20+ years) to his college sweetheart Kathy and they have three children: Lauren, Tre and Morgan.
COACH DARRELL LASENBY Head Coach - 10-Under 678-516-6994 Coach Darrell has more than ten years of basketball coaching experience and has been a part of the Georgia Pearls basketball club for the past 9 years. He believes that all athletes in order to be successful in life must understand the importance of priorities; God, education, family, basketball in that specific order. He believes in the teaching of the fundamentals of basketball and has passion for , developing, mentoring and coaching of the game of basketball to players of all ages. Coach Darrell is originally from the Hoosier state of Indiana. He attended Indiana University where he majored in business. He is an active member of Ben Hill United Methodist church.

Tuesday, October 2 COACH WILLIAM COLEMON 404-314-4677 Coach Colemon has a real passion and respect for the game of basketball that he has played all of his life and have coached with the GA Pearls for 2 years. He is a former Marine, who has over 15 years of coaching experience from the Marine Corps men’s basketball team, county recreational, and AAU. Coach Colemon believes in teach fundamental skills, discipline, and game situations that will prepare all players from any age group and gender for competition play at the highest level. He hopes his players will remember him as the coach who believed that their education is priority before any sporting activities, and he shares this philosophy with his players. Nothing gives Coach Colemon more satisfaction then helping to develop the individual skills of his players. Coach Colemon has a real passion in helping his players achieve all of their goals, big or small and watching his players become leaders on and off the hardwood. It is Coach Colemon’s desire to place a lasting impression in the hearts of every player he coaches and to develop lifelong friendships that will last well into their adult lives. Coach Colemon is a native of Arkansas, he graduated from The University of Central Arkansas, with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Education. He has been married to his wife Mia for seventeen years who is a former Marine that he met in Okinawa Japan. They have two daughters Ashleigh and Alexus.
Wednesday, November 28 COACH LEO CARTER Head Coach 15-Under
Coach Leonardo “Leo” Carter is no stranger to basketball. He has played the sport since his high school years and has been a coach for over 11 years. He believes in stressing the importance of academics as well as athletics and instilling the fact that there is “life beyond basketball” in the minds of his players. He believes that by training players to play multiple positions they become greater assets to themselves and their teams. He has coached with the GA Pearls for 2 years. Coach Carter is a native of Memphis, TN. He is a graduate of LeMoyne-Owen College where he led the Magicians, while on an athletic scholarship, to the NCAA Finals during his freshman year. He has been married to his wife Lisa, whom he went to elementary school with, for 18 years and they have three children: London, Larrisa and Lorenzo. Coach Carter is also an Ordained Minister.

Faith Colter attended Ithaca College in upstate New York where she earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration in 1981. She was a four year started for the Women’s Basketball team and excelled on and off the court. She holds 20 school records and was inducted into the Ithaca College Hall of Fame in 1988. She was the first women’s program inductee.
Faith began her coaching various summer league teams in New York after graduation and continued playing in various summer leagues and Pro-Am tournaments. In 1986 she began her coaching career on the college level when she was named Head Women’s Basketball Coach at New York Institute of Technology. Faith continued to coach at NY Tech for 4 years before returning to coach at her high school alma mater, Roosevelt Jr./Sr. High School. She continued coaching at Roosevelt for 13 years before relocating to the Atlanta area. Faith believes that basketball mirrors life and coaching basketball is not only about teaching athletic skills, but teaching life skills. She has coached with the GA Pearls for 2 years.
