The game was an entertaining game with both team showing strong defence to begin with. several turnovers both on INT and also forced fumbles saw the scores level after the first quarter.
The second quarter saw WA use the wind to there advantage and move the ball through the air with QB #18 - Keiran Lansdell hitting WR #81 Matt Black and #85 Billy Fleming deep. The TD was scored when Lansdell hit Fleming in the endzone. South Australia hit back quickly though after a good return from KR #14 Shane Cheeseman took the kickoff deep into WA territory. QB #16 Simon Jast kept the ball on a QB keeper and took the ball into the endzone to tie up the score.
WA controlled the ball well on the next series and Lansdell found a wide open TE Matt Littlejohn who ran the ball in for an easy touchdown making the score 12-6. On the ensuing drive Littlejohn made another big play and Intercepted the ball. WA wasted little time with Lansdell hitting #20 Adam Rooney for a touchdown. At the half the score was 18-7.
The second half both teams defences once again tried to control the game with SA having the first breakthrough on offense. #28 Frank Elliot made a huge play on 4th down and ran in for a 55yard touchdown.
This sent a wake up call to the WA offense who started to control the game and move the ball more effectively. Scoring touchdowns on several drives including Littlejohn again. Rooney also scored an Intercept return for touchdown.
SA fought hard after a long drive with #80 Adam Smith finishing off a strong drive.
All in all WA were the deserved winners, but SA showed great spirit and will look to continue on some great teamwork and coaching and hit back with a win against NSW
