Ronald Stephens Presented With Lifetime Achievement Award

Congratulations to Milford Little League’s own Ronald Stephens who has been been awarded a lifetime achievement award for volunteer service by Cobb County.

Ronald exemplifies how youth sports can make a positive impact on the youth in our community. After 30 years of being involved in youth sports including 20 years at Milford, we are lucky to have such a positive role model for other youth coaches. Any one who has ever been around Ronald could not be infected with his positive attitude about life and youth
sports.
Milford Little League
If you start discussing baseball with Ronald rarely will you here him talk about wining and losing. Most often he will tell you about how some child years after playing for him told him the year he played for Ronald was the most enjoyable. Or about infectious smile on a child face he witness during a game.

In the last 5 years Ronald has been instrumental in leading the development of the Challenger Division for Milford Little League. Players in the Challenger Division are the winners just by participating in playing baseball. The parents and coaches win by just by seeing a smile on a child's face that did something they had never done before and maybe thought they could not do. The league has grown to over 63 in the spring and 20 in the fall and has continued to grow every year since its introduction. At Milford Little League we are fortunate to have a person who is completely focus on teaching children values that will carry them into adulthood and the of love baseball and youth sports in general.

Carlos Rodriguez Umpires Junior Regionals

A big congratulations to Carlos Rodriguez. Carlos was selected to umpire the 2006 Jr. League Regionals in Cartersville, GA.

Not only did Carlos receive an opportunity to umpire the Jr. Regionals but he also received an opportunity to be evaluated for a Little League World Series selection. Even though we at Milford are somewhat bias Carlos did an excellent job umpiring and representing Milford Little League

Little League Moves Exclusively To Pitch Count Method

Little League will move to exclusively using a pitch count format in lieu of an innings pitched format. This program will reduce the potential for injuring young arms plus increase the opportunities for other players to pitch. Parents, players coaches and others at Milford will notice little difference since Milford used the pitch count method last year.
