Welcome to the Galvez Tigers !!!!

NOTE:  

We will be sending an email in two weeks confirming the rosters for the 2012 season.  We will also be sending an email informing those who are on the waiting lists.  The available positions will be filled from the waiting list and will be choosen by each head coach. 

B Team and C Team are both full with waiting lists.  You can still email your completed registration forms to galveztigersfootball@gmail.com.  We will put you on the waiting list.  Those who have not paid their registrations have until June 15th to pay or they will be removed from the roster and replaced with people from the waiting list.  

A Team has limited room available.

ANY INQUIRIES SHOULD BE EMAILED TO THE galveztigersfootball@gmail.com account.  Please DO NOT call board members or coaches to get on the rosters.

Our vision for this season is to be as transparent as possible. We encourage parent participation and feedback. We hope to join as a community and work together to accomplish great things this year.

Our goal is to teach the fundamentals of football, the importance of teamwork, and most of all to have fun. The coaches will stress self-discipline, respect, concentration, friendship, leadership, and good sportsmanship.

We are accepting sponsorships at this time. If you know someone who would like to contribute to our organization, please contact a board member for a "Sponsorship Form." Galvez Football Club is a non-profit organization and all donations and sponsorships are tax deductible (please contact your tax advisor regarding this).

Galvez is a non-profit organization dedicated to teaching fundamentals of football, sportsmanship and discipline to youth. Galvez Tigers was founded in 1980 by local families, we have played in several leagues around south Louisiana. In 1990 Galvez and five other organization formed our present league known as Southern Louisiana Youth Football Association (SLYFA). Each team is made up of four age groups: A Team 11-12, B Team 9-10, C Team 7-8 and D Team 5-6. We also have cheerleader squads for each team. All of our coaches and board members are volunteers and are out at the field for the benefit of our children.

Weather Policy for Practice

If we know ahead of time, we will email everyone that practice is canceled.
Otherwise, please show up to practice and remain in your car if the weather is severe.  By 6:15, the board will make a decision if to hold practice or not.
We will NOT practice if there is lightning, however we may delay practice momentarily if there is reason to believe the weather conditions will improve soon.

Since we are offering drop offs this year we are requesting that on days with weather conditions favorable for possible ending early or cancelling that you remain at the field.

2012 Registrations

Practice officially starts on July 9th. 

 Full pads will not start until August 1st.

Get your registration forms mailed in.  The slots are filling fast.  We are a first come first serve organization, so the sooner you register the better your chances of being on the team.

Spring Camp



Spring Camp will be held May 7th - 11th 

We will have a drawing for all 2012 spring camp participants that are registered for the 2012 season by 7:00 pm on May 11th.  Your 2012 registration must be paid in order to be in the drawing.

Football Participants $35

Cheer Participants $35

Committees of Galvez Tigers 2012 Season

Together, we can move mountains.   

Spring Camp Committee is lead by Gennia Baye.  This committee will plan for and follow through with all necessary preparations for a successful Spring Camp.

Finance Committee is lead by Gretchen Soniat and will assist the Treasurer with budget control and intake of money from all events, fundraisers, and concession sales throughout the season. 

Fundraising Committee is lead by Gennia Baye and will plan out all details of events to raise funds for GT to meet the demands of the organization throughout the season.

Concessions Committee is lead by Brandi Patin and will decide on & maintain inventory for concession sales, keep accurate records of items needed and vendor contact information.

Team Parent Committee is lead by Faith Crook and will provide necessary support to coaches and players as requested by the board or the coaches.

Field Committee is lead by Kelly Thigpen and will maintain practice and game fields including coordination of trash pick up and removal.
