All new football players must show their birth certificate at time of registration
Divisions
- Mini- ages 6-8, age as of Aug 1. Ball carrying weight is 85lbs.
- Junior- age 9-10, age as of Aug 1. Ball carrying weight is 110 lbs.
- Senior- age 11-12, cannot turn 13 before June 1. Ball carrying weight is 130 lbs.
League provides
- helmet
- shoulder pads
- 7 pad set
- practice jersey and pants
- game jersey and pants (player gets to keep game jersey)
- one mouth guard
- trophy
Items you need to provide are: cleats, athletic supporter and cup, girdle(if needed)
Cheerleaders are provided:
- uniform
- pom poms
- draw string bag
- trophy
Items you need to provide are: spankies and socks
In addition to reg. fees, all registrants will need to provide an equipment deposit check, that will be returned when all equipment is given back to the league by Nov. 16, 2012. Football $150 and cheerleading $80.
The league will not accept or honor any ride share or team/player requests to place players on the same team. Siblings will be the only player placement offered.
Teams will be required to provide concession workers for practices and/or games.
All players will be asked to participate in a league fundraiser.
Season will begin Aug 27th and run through the beginning of Nov. Games will be played at McCorkle Park on Saturdays.
Practices are held at Gahanna Middle School West and begin on July. 30th, from 6-8pm.
Football teams practice 4 days a week until school begins, usually Mon-Thurs. After school begins, practices are 3 days a week.
Cheerleaders practice 2-3 days a week. After school begins they practice 1-2 days a week.
All players should attend one of the evaluations, if a player has not been evaluated they will be placed in the blind draft.
Any parent that feels their player cannot compete in his age group may bring their player to the Petition Evaluation on July 18th at 6pm. The Board of Directors will determine if the petition is granted. All players at the petition will also need to attend the division evaluation later in the week.
Football draft is on July 24th, players will be notified that evening of their team.
Cheerleaders will be notified around July 29th of the teams they were placed on.
Registration Fees are $175 for Football and $65 for Cheerleading. All fes must be paid prior to receiving equipment.
If you do not pay Gahanna City Taxes you must pay a $20 non-resident per player.
Multi family discount. 10% for 2nd child, 20 % for 3rd child, and 4th child is free. Discount is given to the lower priced registrants. Example, if you have a football player and a cheerleader, the discount would be applied to the cheerleader fee.
Early discount $25 off for football and $10 off for cheerleading. This discount will end at 11:59pm on May 31, 2011.
