                GEORGIA CONSTITUTION 

 

 ARTICLE I-NAME                                                                                               This organization shall be known as GEORGIA DIXIE YOUTH BASEBALL.

  ARTICLE II-PURPOSE

The purpose of this organization is to direct the Dixie Youth Baseball program for the youth of the State of Georgia, and in so doing, promote the growth physical, mental, social and spiritual welfare of every participant.

  ARTICLE III-GEOGRAPHICAL DISTRICTS

 The territory embracing the leagues shall be divided into seven (7) geographical districts as determined by the State Board of directors.

  ARTICLE IV-OFFICERS AND DIRECTORS

(a)    The officers of this organization shall be the State Director, Assistant State Director, Treasurer and the Secretary.

(b)    The State Director shall have the power to appoint the Secretary and the Assistant State Director, with a majority approval of the State Board of Directors.

(c)    The State Director will also serve as Treasurer.  He shall deposit the funds of the organization in a reputable bank in the name of the organization and sign all checks.

(d)   The Board of Directors shall consist of the State Director, Assistant State Director, National Directors and the District Directors.

(e)    Each member of the Board of Directors shall be entitled to one vote on all maters.

  ARTICLE V-ELECTIONSSTATE DIRECTOR AND NATIONAL DIRECTORS

(a)    The election of the State and National Directors shall be conducted by the President of Dixie Youth Baseball Inc. in the same manner as the election of the National Directors, as outlined under Democratic Action in the Dixie Youth Baseball, Inc. official Rule Guide book, as passed by the National Board of Directors in 1988.

(b)    The nominations for State and National Director may be made by any league holding a current Dixie Youth Baseball, Inc. franchise.

(c)    The elected State and National Director will take office as outlined under Democratic Action in the Dixie Youth Baseball, Inc. official Rule Guidebook.

(d)   The State and National Director shall be elected for a (4) four-year term of office.

(e)    To hold the office of State Director or National Director, one must have been associated with Dixie Youth Baseball for a period of at least two years.

                                                                            

                                                                                                                                                                                              

 DISTRICT DIRECTOR

(a)    The affiliated leagues of their respective districts shall elect the Seven District Directors.

(b)   Each league will be entitled to cast one vote.

(c)    The election of the District Director will take place at the district’s spring meeting.  Such meeting shall be called by the incumbent Director and each league entitled to vote shall be notified by mail at least ten days prior to the meeting.

(d)   The term of the office will be for four years.

(e)    The election will be at the spring meeting following the Directors last year of the four-year term and will serve beginning at that time until the spring meeting after the fourth year in office.

(f)    Leagues within the respective districts that were in good standing on the date of the meeting will be entitled to vote.

(g)   The District Director shall appoint his Sub-District Director or Directors.  (Term of office will be for one {1} year).

(h)   To hold the office of District Director or Sub-District Director, one must have been associated with Dixie Youth Baseball for a period of at least two years.

 ARTICLE VI-BOARD OF DIRECTORS

(a)    The Board of Directors shall act in advisory capacity to the State Director.  They shall entertain and cause to thoroughly investigated written complaints against Dixie Youth Baseball within the State of Georgia and shall take whatever action they deem advisable.

(b)   The Board of Directors shall have full power to adopt all regulations to govern its deliberations as long as they comply with the rules and regulations of Dixie Youth Baseball, Inc.

(c)    Two meeting of the Board of Directors of Georgia shall be held each year, one on the last Saturday in September and the other on the third Saturday in January.  Other special meetings of the Board of Directors may be called by the State Director or by any six (6) voting members of the Board.  Each member entitled to a vote shall be notified by mail at least ten (10) days prior to the date of such meeting.

(d)   A quorum for  the transaction of business of any regular or special meeting of the Directors shall consist of at least six (6) of the voting members of the Board; but a majority of those present at any regular or special meeting shall have the power to adjourn the meeting to a future time.

(e)    All vacancies of unexpired terms of the Board of Directors may be filled by the remaining Board of Directors until an election can be held.

(f)    The conduct of the State, Assistant State, National, District and Sub-District Directors will be beyond reproach.  Any member found by the Board of Directors of misconduct of any kind believed to be detrimental or embarrassing to Dixie Youth Baseball of Georgia, the guilty person will be dismissed from this organization

(g)   If for a justifiable reason the State Director is unable to carry out his duties during the regular season, the Assistant State Director shall assume these duties.

(h)   Should the office of the State Director become vacant for any reason, the Assistant State Director will become the interim State Director and assume the duties until an election cal be held to fill the vacancy.

(i)     Each League shall be notified of all League actions passed by the Board.

  ARTICLE VII-AMENDMENTS

(a)    The Constitution may be amended at any meeting by an affirmative vote of three-fourths of the votes cast.

(b)   All amendments must be approved by the National Board of Directors before becoming a part of the Georgia Constitution.
