2008 Panther Coaching Staff

The executive of the North Mississauga Soccer Club has affirmed Coach Joe PEREIRA as the head coach of the G93A Panthers for the 2008 season.
Congratulations Coach PEREIRA.

This commitment will allow the coaching staff to continue the implementation of their immediate and short term goals that they began in the 2007 season.  These goals will build a strong soccer foundation, enabling the development required to reach  their long term goals in the post secondary identification years at U16 and U17.

If you want to hear more about our goals and implementation strategy,

I am entering my 14th year of coaching youth soccer.  During the past two years as the head coach of the North Mississauga Panthers G93A team, my players have had considerable success.

In 2006, we had a very successful year, we started by winning the Mississauga International Tournament.  We continued our strong ways, winning the Ontario Cup in early September, and finished the year qualifying for the OYSL.

In 2007 we returned to the Mississauga International Tournament. Playing up a year, we finished with a silver medal.  We attended the National Capital Tournament in Ottawa, grabbing the silver medal.  We were a semi-finalist in the Ontario Cup and we finished our first year in the OYSL in Second Place in the defensively strong OYSL - West Division.

As we approach our second year in the OYSL, we intend to increase the development of the team through fitness and ball control.  We are looking forward to the Ontario Summer Games in 2008 and another strong year in the OYSL.

Assistant Coach Tryouts

If you think Rep Tryouts are tough.  Take a look at what our assistant coaches had to go through...             Special Note:  These are trained purrfessionals.  No assistant coaches, or potential assistant coaches were harmed during the evaluation process.   There is absolutely no truth to the rumour that we started the day with twenty assistant coach applicants and  returned with two.......

Ever wonder what they talk about when the coaches bring all the girls  together????

If you ask your daughter you are likely to get the "I don't remember" response!!!

The editors wanted answers, so we sent someone on the inside to get the answer....

Our Coaching Philosophy...

Soccer is an activity which embodies physical fitness, creativity, teamwork and dedication. Our player development program is based upon the concept that a passion for the ball and the game are fundamental to the development of a soccer player.  We are committed to the personal and player development of each individual on the team. The culmination of talented, dedicated players and quality coaching equals a successful program. Behind every successful player, there is a genuine love for the game.

    1. Create a training and playing environment that fosters fun, learning and development in our players.
     2. Pursue competition and opportunities that will challenge our players and foster long-term development.
     3. Provide our players with a qualified and licensed coaching staff.

a note from the coach
Regardless of your age, the experience of being on a great team is priceless. It is something that will influence who you are for the remainder of your life. Few experiences can be as helpful in the growth of young athletes, as being part of a selfless group working toward a common goal. Great teams are made up of athletes who have given up their quest for individual glory, who have willingly and wholeheartedly accepted the character traits of a team player and who have fully committed themselves to the group effort. This is a coachÂ’s greatest legacy.
