Benefits Of Being A SICOA Football
Official
You will meet
new friends, develop long lasting relationships and be a part of the nation's
most popular sport. And, you get paid to do it. Youth games pay from $25.00
(youth flag) to $45.00 (youth tackle). Middle school games pay $62.00, junior
varsity is $54.00 and high school varsity pays $70.00. Clock operators are
compensated $34.00 per game. An average Saturday will have you on the field for
4-6 games and at least one clock. Fees are paid in cash at the game sites at the
end of the day's schedule.
Your FHSAA membership entitles you to all 2013
rulebooks, practice testing, officials manual and more. Plus, you have an
accident insurance policy that covers you at all games and is primary insurance
if you have no coverage and pays secondary to your own insurance if benefits
expire.
You will be responsible to obtain and purchase your own officiating
uniform and equipment. But that can be made back just after your first Saturday
of regular season games.
Then, there is the opportunity for you to move up in
the association. This is up to you. It relates to your on field performance,
evaluations and ratings, meeting attendance and annual test score.
We
call it paid exercise. What a great way to pick up some extra cash during the
week while working football
games. An average official that works Wednesday
nights, Thursday and/or Friday afternoon and nights and all day Saturday can
easily take home about $450.
Transfer Requirements (Officials with more than three years experience)
All transfer officials must meet the association's general transfer requirements, as well as FHSAA transfer policies in order to officiate contests that are contracted by this association. If you are an official that started officiating in 2010 or earlier, please contact us directly for information provided to transfer officials. Please e-mail us with your information at info@sicoaofficials.com.
We hope the information in
this e-mail was helpful. If you have any additional questions or comments,
please feel free to e-mail us at info@sicoaofficials.com. It is our
hope to see you March 19th at our first meeting for the 2013 spring
workshop.
Sincerely,
SICOA Board of Directors
