Two Pop Warner Members Among Four Finalists for Kellogs Frosted Flakes Earn Your Stripes Youth Achievement Award
Of the four finalists, two are participants in the Pop Warner Little Scholars, Inc. program. Clay White, an 11-year old Pop Warner football player from Bryan, TX, and M’Liyah Mitchell, a 14-year old Pop Warner cheerleader for the Sweetwater Eagles in Jacksonville, FL are both vying for the chance to receive the Youth Achievement Award from Pop Warner National Sponsor Kellogg’s Frosted Flakes®.
Starting May 18, 2009, videos of Clay and M’Liyah will be posted on the Earn Your Stripes ESPN hub at www.espn.com/earnyourstripes. At the end of the month-long voting period, the finalist with the most votes will receive the Youth Achievement Award at the 2009 ESPY Breakfast in July.
Kellogg’s Frosted Flakes® selected the finalists based on an essay submission and phone interview process. The finalists were nominated from the Earn Your Stripes™ partner organizations: Pop Warner Little Scholars, Little League International, and Girls on the Run International. FYD Family
We played in some great games this weekend. We had two games go into overtime and lost another by just a touchdown. We are very proud of our players and coaches for their efforts and sportsmanship.
We also thank the NE Tampa Pirates for hosting the Regional Playoffs this week and last week. We had huge crowds (thousands – literally) both weekends. The Pirates created and environment in which we had no problems at all with the crowds, players or coaches.
We wish the BEST of LUCK, to all of Cheerleading Teams who will be competing next week in Orlando at the Regional Cheer Competition.
Thanks all,
Dwayne

2008 FYD Conference Final Scores
FYD Congratulates the Mustangs, Hurricanes, and Patriots!
We were very please to see such parody in the conference. 3 of our 8 Conference Championships ended in a score of 8 to 6. We hope that such tough competition within our conference helps our teams be successful when they move to Regional Competition.
Our D2 Champs will face off against the D2 Champs out of Peace River on Saturday at Tampa Bay Tech.
Our D1 Champs have Bye this week. They will play the winners of Peace River vs. Miami on the 22nd at Tampa Bay Tech.
Our conference runner-ups have won the honor to represent FYD in the I-4 Bowl this weekend. We wish the Sharks, Bandits, Trojans, Panthers, and Titans, GOOD LUCK! Let’s show those Orlando teams who has the best Pop Warner program on the I-4 Corridor.
We also thank the Pirates for hosting these playoff games. If any FYD Board Members would like to volunteer to help out at these games, please let me know. We may need some help making sure that these events run smoothly. I would love to assign 3 FYD Board Members man the chains during the sidelines of the Regional games on Saturday as well.
So, let’s go Mustangs!
Let’s go Canes!
Let’s go Patriots!
And… Let’s GO FYD!
Dwayne
The stadium cannot be seen from the road. Visitors will have to drive around to the back of the Junior High buildings before they can see the stadium and parking lot.
