Interviews will be conducted in the next two weeks and qualified Managerial Candidates will be presented to the FWNLL Board of Directors at the November 5th meeting.

Congratulations to the Steel Lake Little League Braves for winning the 2008 Baseball Tournament of Champions and to Steel Lake Little League Fastpitch for winning the 2008 Softball Tournament of Champions!

Thank you to the many volunteers from FWNLL for helping run this tournament and making it a success and thank you to District 10 for giving FWNLL the opportunity to be the host!!

FWNLL is pleased to announce the 2008 Volunteer of the Year Award recipients are Steve and Cathy Pearson.

Steve and Cathy have been involved in Little League for 20 years.  The last 6 years have been with FWNLL.

Steve is a coach for the Majors Division Cardinals, has been an All Star coach and is always happy to teach kids baseball no matter what team they are affiliated with.

Cathy took on the Master Scheduler position with FWNLL in 2007 and in 2008 in addition to Master Scheduler she took on the Player Agent duties on an interim basis.  In her "spare" time, she is league/team photographer and is scorekeeper for the Majors Division Cardinals.

If you spend any time at the FWNLL Complex you are bound to run into either one of them.  Please take the time to thank them for their dedication to our league!

FWNLL is pleased to announce that we have been chosen by District 10 to host the 2008 Tournament of Champions (TOC). TOC is a single elimination tournament involving the Major's Division Champions for both baseball and softball from each league within District 10.  The tournament games begin Saturday, June 6th and continue through Wednesday, June 11th.  There is a need for many volunteers to make sure this event runs smoothly and professionally.  Jeff Zimmerman is working with District 10 to ensure that FWNLL is meeting the needs of this tournament.  The Back Stop Concessions will be open during this time and will need volunteers to work 2 or 3 hour shifts.  Please contact Molly Charbonneau at thebackstopconcessions@yahoo.com if you would be willing to donate a few hours of your time to work at concessions.

Congratulations to the Giants for winning the 2008 FWNLL Majors Division Tournament.  The Giants now advance to the District 10 Tournament of Champions (TOC) which will be hosted by FWNLL this weekend.  The Giants will face Auburn at 9:00AM on Saturday (6/7) at 9:00AM.

Thank you to the many volunteers who spent time preparing for this event, selling tickets, monitoring the bounce houses and dunk tank, sitting in the dunk tank, working in concessions, helping with the skills competition, announcing games, activities and other important information, cleaning bathrooms, emptying trash, sweeping, umpiring, setting up and taking down tables and chairs etc. etc.  IT COULDN'T HAVE BEEN DONE WITHOUT YOU!!

The FWNLL Registration fee included a $10.00 fundraiser which is 10 booklets of Taco Time coupons.  They may be sold for $1.00 each to recoup your $10.00 or you may keep them for your own benefit (each book has a coupon for 1 free taco).  If you signed up at the mall then you should have already been given the booklets.  If you signed up online you may pick up your Taco Time coupon books at the concessions stand.

The 2nd floor of the FWNLL Concessions Building has been approved for use. This room is to be used by coaches and board members only. Team meetings should be limited to coaching, training or informational (NO CLEATS/NO PARTIES). To reserve the conference room please click the calendar link to the left and check availability first, then send a message to brian_westberg@msn.com with your requested time and purpose. You will receive a reply by e-mail confirming your reservation and a code to the key box to gain access. Occasionally, outside organizations may be granted use of this room, but this will be upon approval by the FWNLL Board only.

Some general guidelines for use of this room are as follows:

NO CLEATS
WIPE SHOES AT DOOR ENTRANCE TO PREVENT SOILING THE CARPET
LEAVE THE ROOM IN A NEAT AND CLEAN APPEARANCE
TURN OFF HEAT AND LIGHTS UPON DEPARTURE
LOCK DOORS AND RETURN KEY TO KEY BOX
