Canadiens shutout by Shattuck
Sid Conklin, the brother of Ty Conklin (Pittsburgh Penguins) made 30 saves in shutting out the Fort William Canadiens on Sunday, giving the Shattuck-St.Mary's Sabres the 2-0 victory.

After a scoreless first period, the Sabres were able to take advantage of a turnover in the Canadiens zone and Jake Moore beat Canadiens netminder Brett Parise to take a 1-0 lead.

Shattuck made it 2-0 in the third period when Luke Moore grabbed a loose puck and beat Parise.  Despite firing 30 shots on goal, the Canadiens were unable to beat Conklin.

Both teams finished 0-3 on the powerplay.

Notes: The Canadiens ended the weekend with a win and two losses; The entire weekend was played without five players.  With three defenseman out of the line-up, Nicholas Lopez moved back to the point and played 8 of the 9 periods at the new position.  Affiliate John Kranyak played the final period of the weekend at defense; Injured defenseman Ryan Begall made the trip and joined the Canadiens on the bench for the final two games of the weekend.
