Fury Baseball : My Site News: FURY 9U WIN TOP GUN TOURNAMENT

  The Fury 9u boys won the  Top Gun Summer Heat Series tournament in Rocky Mount this past weekend.  They played a good Young Guns team from Rocky Mount.  On Saturday the first game started out right with Jacob Borden enjoying a one, two, three top of the first inning.  In the bottom of the first the Fury boys took a 6-0 lead before being rained out.  On Sunday the game was replayed and the score board was wiped clean.  The Young Guns built a 7-3 lead and it looked like they would cruise to the win, but in the bottom of the 4th inning our Fury boys staged a furious rally where they scored 5 runs to win the game 8-7.  In the second game of the day the boys jumped out to an early 4-0 lead and never looked back takinig the final game with a score of 11-6.  Jackson Anderson pitched a great game to earn the win.  

  It was a great first tournament for the team.  It was exciting to see the level of play by the young Fury boys who have worked very hard to get to this point.  We look forward to watching them grow as a team as they look to compete with the best teams in the State.  GREAT JOB FURY!!!
