Western Union seals FUN Games Global Star Cup Volleyball

The FUN Games was launched in July 2012 this year to integrate selected tournaments under one umbrella to have better coordination for venues, sponsors and to streamline over-all costs. The Asia Pacific Sports Management (APSM) and ONE PIECE event are also supporting the games.

The FUN Games has offered selected Filipino tournaments access to venues, cheaper registration fees and even free drinks during the matches. The biggest pull of the games is that it make sure that everybody plays.

“The biggest challenge we have is finding venues, especially indoor facilities. This is because the Global Star Cup alone need a full day set of games from 9am-9pm. So, it’s a heavy requirement” said Marlyn Sumaway, volunteer teams coordinator of the Global Star Cup.

Singapinoy, the IMPinay, Global Star and the FUN Games aims to take grassroots sporting to the next level with its chairman Spud Eduarte supporting the Filipino Youth Basketball team in participating the Community Basketball League (CBL) this year.

Western Union has been a consistent sponsor of various events in Singapore and believes the integration will provide more mileage for the company and its remittance services. Its Community Consultant Ms. Marie Paz Torrato has been cited for key ideas and projects which bring the Filipino community closer.
