FGSA & SOFTBALL NEWS
The Fremont Flyer 14U closed out this weekend’s tournament in Hayward with its second straight trip to the championship game in back to back tournaments. The Flyers advanced to the final game by beating a tough Los Gatos Magic team by the score of 7 - 4. The win came on a clutch double by Lexi Eddings with bases loaded which drove in three runs in the final inning. The championship game was a battle with South San Jose Quicksilver edging out Fremont 4-2 to take 1st place.
The Flyers took 1st place in Davis on October 3 and 4th by beating out local team Davis Commotion in an 8-6 victory in the championship game.
The Flyers have enjoyed a very successful season this year, with three 2nd place and two 1st place finishes so far this year.
Our next tournament will be in Fremont on the weekend of October 31st.

Congratulations to each of the girls.
AB of 14U Tomboys also won an American Express gift card for raising the most money for the Hit-a-thon.
Volunteer Rewards Program
Our First Vice President Cindy Parker proposed to the Board a Volunteer Reward Program. Volunteer hours would be tracked and tabulated by Cindy, the teams with the most volunteer hours would receive a prize to be rewarded at Closing Day. Thanks to Cindy's diligence the program was a success. We had record numbers of volunteers and each event planned by FGSA was successful because of our volunteers. Thank-you to everyone who participated.
Three teams in the (18U, 14U, 12) were in the running for the most volunteer hours, the team with the most volunteer hours was rewarded to the Rockets who walked away with an Aqua Adventures party. Two teams were in the (10U and 7U) were in the running for the most volunteer hours, the Heatwave were rewarded a party at Cloverleaf Family Bowl.
