REBELS DOMINATE DURING JAMES RIVER JAMBOREE
The 2007 Douglas Freeman Girls Varsity team had a wonderful showing at James River High School yesterday at the James River Jamboree. They first played Midlothian High School beating them in each of the 2 games. Then came Cosby High School and we again beat them in 2 games. Next we played Powhatan High School who put up a good fight but our Rebels dominated in both games in the end. The final 2 games were played against 2006 AAA Girls Championship runner up team, Hanover High School. Play was tough but the Rebels were able to beat Hanover in the first game to 25. The second game was won by Hanover 15-13 (think we could have gotten them if we'd played to 25).
The Coaches did a great job of giving all the girls game time and everyone did an excellent job on the floor. The Rebels only lost 1 game all day and came away with the best record out of all the teams.
Thanks to James River High School for hosting a great scrimmage!
