  Sat 7/2/11 TBA No "official" match today - Edgewater Rugby Fest Fourth of July weekend may mean no scheduled matches, but it doesn’t have to mean no rugby! On Saturday July 2nd, 2011 the South River Seahawks will again host the Edgewater Rugby Fest at Edgewater Park in Edgewater Maryland. Come join players from around PRUYL for pick-up rugby matches in our co-ed two-hand-touch PRUYL format and a day of rugby camaraderie. This weekend you’ll play alongside the players you’ll face the rest of the season. We’ll be on hand to start processing sign-ups starting at 8AM so we can start the first matches by 8:30. We’ll count-off sides, pass out pinnies and play quick seven-minute halves. Then we’ll go back to re-shuffle the teams while the next group comes out, and repeat ‘til everyone’s had their fill. This year we’ll have four pitches lined for players—one 100x50 for the U15s, one 90x50 for the U13s, one 80x40 for the U11s and one 60x30 for the U9s. We’ll also have Rugby 101 clinics designed to help show parents who are new to rugby what’s going on out there on the pitch! Adults & Kids Match: A favorite of the past two Edgewater Rugby Fests has been our motley match with players of all ages. Once the kids have had their fill playing each other, we’ll choose up sides for a parents & kids match or two. We’ll provide bulk ice water to refill your water bottles, and our great snack shack will be in full operation with everything from sports drinks to burgers & dogs and sweets Click here ERF11Waiver.pdf for the player waiver so that players who are carpooling can bring their signed permission slip along. There is a nominal $5 fee to help us make sure we cover costs and raise a little money for the team. This year’s great Independence Day-themed Edgewater Rugby Fest tee shirt for just $15.
