ROY ROGERS EXTENDS SPONSORSHIP
Plamondon Enterprises, Inc. of Frederick, MD, owner/operator of fifteen area Roy Rogers restaurants, has agreed to sponsor the Frederick U.S.S.S.A. Fall Softball League for its 13th anniversary season in 2006. This marks the 13th consecutive season of sponsorship for Roy Rogers, the only sponsor in the league's history.
The Roy Rogers corporate sponsorship allows us to offer a quality league while helping to keep team entry and player fees at a reasonable price. A special thank you to Bill Dulany, Marketing Coordinator, for his continued sponsorship.
How to check game scores and standings
Now that the season has started, you can check all the scores by clicking on "Schedules" in the left column. It will bring up the schedule and show the scores of all completed games.
Updated standings can be accessed by simply clicking on "Standings". Teams will not show up there until they have played their first game. The following abbreviations are used:
W-Wins, L-Losses, T-Ties, PST, Pave-Average runs scored per game, PF-Total Runs scored for season, PA-Total runs scored by opponents, PCT-Winning percentage, GB-Games back from leader, SO-Shutouts
Softballs for League Play
Any ball that is COR .44 (375, NOT 525) OR LESS is legal. Each team provides their own ball and can use any manufacturer/model they prefer as long as they are COR .44 OR LESS. Balls that are marked "Minimum of COR .44", "Exceeds COR .44", or that do not have a distinguishable stamp for their COR rating CANNOT be used in league play. "The Elite Ball" by USSSA is a 44 COR ball and is LEGAL in League play.
Since each team provides their own balls, they could potentially throw in a new ball for each batter, or hit used balls the entire season. Also remember that the pitcher is responsible to check the ball. After the ball is hit, it is assumed legal for that play. There are NO PLAYOVERS !!! It could, however, be deemed illegal AFTER the pitch and not allowed to be used for the remainder of the game.

Look like rain ? You can check the local weather forecast and radar directly from any page on the website simply by clicking on the small yellow sun in the left column just below the "Last Updated" date and time. Remember, the rain cancellation number is 301-473-8819, but it won't be inservice until just before the season starts (because it's my computer line !). The other symbol (compass) is for directions to Ballenger Creek Park.

Illegal Bats
Only "APPROVED BATS" listed by USSSA for 2006 are legal. The following bats are NOT ALLOWED to be used in our League:
- Mizuno Ultra
- Mizuno Ultra II
- Original Demarini Distance
- Any bats containing "Titanium"
Remember the penalty if these are used: The batter will be out and ejected and thus must sit the next two games (Please don't let this happen to your team).
