BATS ALIVE... GREAT HUSTLE... TEAMWORK!
Forney, TX - The White Sox faced the young Forney Gators this past Saturday on a day that threatened storms. Fortunately, another rainout was avoided and the game would be played! Brandon R drew a base-on-balls to start things off in the top of the first inning. Noah would knock him in with a base hit to right field. Andy would drill a hit down the first base lineto bring in another run. Brandon A would draw a walk followed by a hit by Nick and the White Sox would find themselves on top 3-0 after a half inning of play!
Brandon R started on the mound for the White Sox and looked good in his first start of the season. He is gaining more confidence on the mound and his form and delivery is looking better each game... this Southpaw is earning a spot in the White Sox rotation! However, the pesky Gators would draw blood against our White Sox and though score a couple of runs... Brandon R would finish strong by strike out their last two batters of the inning. The score was 3-2 in our White Sox favor after 1 complete inning.
Zack grounded a single to start off the Sox rally in the top of the 2nd inning. Brandon R would follow with a hit to left field and Weston would clear the bases with a massive double to left center! Noah, Andy and Brandon A would follow with base-on-balls and Nick would come through with a clutch line single scoring two more runs! Taylor and Cameron would both walk bring home the 6th run of the inning and giving the Sox a commanding 9-2 lead.
The Gators would not just sit and roll over... they came to play and would put 4 more runs across in their half of the second cutting the lead to 9-6... still in the Sox favor.
The White Sox would continue to put runs on the board in the top of the third inning. Spencer started the inning by displaying incredible hustle to leg out an infield hit. Brandon R would draw another walk and Weston would drive in another run with a line single! Noah would follow with a souring liner to the left-center field fence for a double bring home Weston and giving the Sox a 12-6 lead!
Andy would take the mound for the first time for the White Sox in the bottom of the third inning and though would get into a little walk trouble... he still overpowered the Gator hitters with 3 strike outs and holding the Gators to only 1 run!
Nick started off the top of the 4th inning with a base-on-balls. Taylor followed with his third walk of the game. Spencer, once again, legged out another infield hit hustling all the way and beating the throw by a hair! Zack followed with a single and the game would be called on time with the White Sox victorious 15-7!
Good pitching & defense... Bats were incredible... and the hustle was there! Great game White Sox!
