GOOD DEFENSE & PITCHING; BATS COME AROUND!
Forney, TX - The Forney White Sox took to the field Saturday after having the first two games of the Fall Season called off due to the rains! The were a little rusty with the bats but their pitching and defense looked strong!
Noah started on the mound for our White Sox and struck out the sides holding the Indians scoreless in the top of the first inning. Zack would lead off the bottom of the first with a base-on-balls and Weston would walk as well... however, the Indians would strike out three of our batters as well keeping the game scoreless after one inning.
Brandon R took to the mound in the top of the second inning and fanned a couple of batter and shutting down the powerful Indian bats once again. However, the Sox would be held scoreless in their half of the second. The score was 0 to 0 after two innings of play.
The Indians finally opened things up in the top of the third to break the scoreless tie. They would but 4 runs across the plate. The Sox would come right back in the bottom half of the third. Taylor would lead off the inning with a walk. Brandon R would also draw a walk putting two runners on base. Weston followed with a hit that towered over the centerfielder's head for a double that cleared the bases! Noah and Andy would both be hit by pitched balls that loaded the bases... however, the Sox would not take advantage and the score would be 4-2 after three innings of play.
Brandon A would relieve Brandon R on the mound in the top of the 4th inning and would retire the Indian batters on only 8 pitches! He would be helped by a spectacular catch by shortstop Weston on a sinking liner and also help out his own cause with a nice catch on the mound where he would double up the Indian baserunner at first.
The great defense would ignite the Sox bats in their half of the 4th inning where the White Sox exploded for 6 runs! Jon started off the inning by laying down an incredible bunt single. Brandon A would reach on an infield hit and Taylor would draw another base-on-balls. Brandon R would bring home a runner with an infield hit and Weston would rip another double to the left centerfield fence! Nick would score Weston on a base hit and Andy would stop the inning at 6 runs with a line single to left field. The White Sox were no up 8-4... where the game would end!
