Minor Playoffs

  Redsox 7 A's 4

Outstanding pitching from both teams. Ben Cherwinski, Brett Dabrowski and Lex Lagase pitched for the Sox getting 10 strikeouts, 4 walks, with 8 hits allowing 4 runs. Camren Blauvelt behind the plate catching for the Sox also did a great job throwing out a runner at third and Keegan Bartis making the tag. Sox batters combined for 11 hits. Brett Dabrowski 4 RBI's, Keegan Bartis 1 RBI, Alec Diloreto with 2 RBI's.

I would like to thank the coaches from both teams also the parents that got involved to get field 2 ready for play. It was unfortunate we didn't get the chance to play on field 1. I know everybody looked foward to playing on field 1.

Dodgers Forestville Little League Champions

The Forestville Dodgers beat the scrappy and well-coached Yankees 7 - 3 Wednesday evening behind the pitching arm of Eric Therrien. Therrien struck out 4 and walked none, gave up 5 hits, and made 6 put-outs himself. The DOdgers got off to a great start when Peter Roche (3 hits, HR, 2 doubles) led off the game hitting the first pitch over the center field fence. Nine batters came to plate during a three-run first inning with Gil Roy, Jacob Dubrosky, Ronnie Tessman (2 hits, double) and Dillion Howard all connecting on solid shots. The DOdgers also made some key defensive plays to hold the Yankees, who came back to score two runs in the second, from scoring more than one run in both the fourth and fifth innings with bases loaded. Jacob Dubrosky, Jestin White, Therrien, and Roche came up with big plays when it mattered the most.

Tyler Lavigne had ten strike-outs in relief of Troy Micale and gave up only 2 runs for the Yankees over 4 innings. The Yankees hitters were led by Ricky Lemke and Tyrice Watson who collected two hits apiece. Lavigne drove in a run with an RBI single in the second inning. The Yankees finished a great season at 14 and 7.

This was the 13th win in a row for the Dodgers who have been playing great ball throughout the season and into the playoffs and finished 17 and 2 for the year. The team will play again in the summer classic when it plays host to McCabe Waters and Edgewood in the City Series in Bristol. Therrien, Roy, Tessman and Roche will be making their second trip to the City Series.

Championship game for Majors will be on Tuesday 6-16-09 (5:30 pm)
