HO HO HO!!!! Thanks to everyone that came out to ride on the Forest Xtreme Float!!! Congratulations to Our JUNIOR A team, for winning SILVER at the St. Catharines Tournament this past weekend!! Well done ladies :) Two Important Dates to Mark on your Calendars for December 1) 1st Annual FRA Christmas Bake Sale – December 19 (10:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m.)
Don’t have time to make fancy trays of delicious Christmas baking for all of your holiday guests? Come to the FRA Bake Sale at the Shores arena on Saturday, December 19 and fill up on all of your holiday baking needs! Spread the word to neighbours, friends, relatives, co-workers and people you meet in the mall! Each ringette family is responsible for preparing (or purchasing) one item for the bake sale. One item would be equivalent to one tray of squares or one batch of cookies, etc. Baked goods should arrive at the arena by 9:30 a.m. at the latest and should be divided and ready to be sold (including being priced). Items containing nut products should be marked. In addition, each team is responsible for having 1 or 2 people at the arena to help run the sale from 10 until 3. Teams can have the same person/people volunteer for the whole time, or divide it up between families. Coaches: Please make sure that all of your players and their parents are informed of the bake sale.
See you at the arena for some yummy treats on the 19th!
2) 3 on 3 Tournament – December 21 (9:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m.)
Looking for something for you or your ringette player to do over the Christmas break? Come join us for a day of fun at the Shores arena for our 3 on 3 tournament! The tournament is open to all FRA ringette players novice age and up. The cost is $20.00 per player (paid on the day of the tournament) which includes an awesome day of exciting ringette, as well as a light lunch (2 hot dogs and a juice box per player). Players are encouraged to bring their own additional food and drinks for the day and/or money (the food both will be open). Sign up sheets for the tournament will be posted on the message board in the lobby of the Shores arena this week. Please make sure to sign up by Wednesday, December 16. We are also looking for several parent volunteers to help make the day run more smoothly. Volunteers are needed to help prepare and serve food and organize the players. We also need at least one parent/volunteer on the bench with each team (2 volunteers per team is preferable to help operate the doors). Sign up sheets for parents is also available on the message board at the arena. Your help to make the day run smoothly is greatly appreciated. We are looking for high school student volunteers to help with the day (i.e. run the clock and help with teams as necessary). If you are in high school and need to complete some community service hours, this is a great opportunity! Looking forward to seeing you at this fun event!
