Thanks for the Trees...
The Forest Hills Little League would like to thank New York Restoration Project and Million Trees NYC for donating over forty trees to our fields. The Forest Hills Little League Baseball fields were hit hard by a tornado that ripped through parts of NYC last fall. As a result, the league lost over forty trees. The new trees will be planted all across the fields to be enjoyed by the community and the kids who come through each year. A special thanks to Brian Ross and Susan Kornacki who helped expedite the process.
The FHLL is very grateful for your assistance. Click here to view pictures of our kids and volunteers planting these trees !
Posting of Game Scores
**ATTENTION MANAGERS** You are responsible for reporting the game score to your league's player agent if your team WINS !! If you do not report the winning score within 24 hours, your team WILL NOT be credited with the win and WILL FORFEIT the game.
Game scores are posted as soon as I receive them from league officials. Managers, please
contact your player agent if your score was incorrectly posted. Incomplete games with a score will NOT be posted until the game is officially completed. I will update the date here each time new scores are posted for that day.
2011 FH Little League Opening Day Pictures - April 9th
Firefighter Antonio Velez with Jesse after ceremonial first pitch
Opening Day for the 2011 Forest Hills Little League season was Saturday, April 9th. It was a beautiful day that started with early morning Tee and Lob-ball games followed by our traditional Opening Day Ceremonies lead by J.R. Nocerino on Field #1 at 12:00 Noon. The Continental Post Color Guard of the American Legion marched onto the field followed by several younger players reciting the Little League pledge representing over 700 players on 70 teams all sponsored by local businesses. After that, the crowd all sang our National Anthem.
Firefighter Antonio Velez from Engine 320 was presented a special plaque for saving FH Little League player Jesse Iacovetta from a house fire earlier this year. After some heart-warming words from Firefight Velez, he threw out the ceremonial first-pitch to Jesse, it was a high-strike! In continuing our support for Jesse and his family, many people in attendance wore their "TEAM JESSE" t-shirt at the ceremonies.
To highlight the importance of fire safety, the league with assistance from Bobby Schmuck arranged for the FDNY Smoke House to be onsite.
Other guests and special friends of the FHLL included: Senator Toby Ann Staviski, Council Member Karen Koslowitz, Assemblyman Andrew Hevesi, our very own Abe Miller and Peter Moreo Jr. who donated an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) to the league.

HELP US REPAIR OUR FIELDS The FHYAA and Forest Hills Little League Need Your Help !!!
On Thursday evening, September 16, Forest Hills was hit by a freak Tornado. The Fleet Street Fields lay directly in its path. Fields 2, 3, and 4 were severely damaged. At least 40 trees were blown down, the backstop on field 2 was destroyed, a water line from our sprinkler system was cut as a result of a falling tree, the bleachers on field 2 were damaged, and the scoreboard on field 3 was blown down and much of fencing on fields 2 & 3 were damaged. An electrical control panel from one of the light poles on field 3 was blown off. Numerous trees will need to be cut down as a safety measure.
We need your help! The cost of the cleanup and repair will cost thousands of dollars. You can help by coming to the FHYAA Dinner Dance and Benefit Auction on Saturday, October 30, 2010. The event will take place at Bruno’s On The Boulevard from 8pm until 1pm. Cost is $65.00 per person which includes cocktail hour, open bar, buffet dinner and dancing to the music of DJ Stevie Z. Halloween costumes are encourage but not required. We are now accepting reservations. Tickets will not be sold at the door. All adults are welcome.
