FIREFIGHTERS AUXILIARY DONATES TO FOOTHILL
The Ventura City Firefighters Auxiliary chose Foothill LL to be the recipient of the proceeds from their annual Pancake Breakfast fundraiser held on May 29 at Poinsettia Pavilion. Last week the Auxiliary donated an $800 check to Foothill Little League during a brief ceremony on Kitko Field.
The proceeds were used to refurbish the grandstand in left field at Kitko. The project was completed by league volunteers Lou Kwiatkowski and Joe Perez. Both men have been involved with Foothill Little League for many decades. Lou coached his son when the league was first established and went on to watch his grandchildren play at Foothill Little League. He is a constant presence at the fields and is always helping with projects behind the scenes. Joe Perez is a former Foothill Little League player and who also coached his children on these four diamonds nestled in the back of Arroyo Verde Park. Joe is currently the league's Umpire-In-Chief and a member of the Board of Directors.
A pancake breakfast ticket sales contest was held among all 22 teams at Foothill LL . The Dodgers team from the Major Division won the contest and the top two individual sellers were Luke Weins and Seth Hense.
