Little League "tryouts" are really player evaluations. Player evaluations are held so that teams can be balanced. Managers and board members observe the players so that teams can be selected with a good mix of pitchers, fielders, and hitters. Player evaluations never cause players to be excluded from teams.
Frank Manning will be having Fall Ball walk up signups and skill set assessments of players this Sunday, August 30, 2009 (1pm) and Monday, August 31, 2009 at (6PM) at Irwin J. Lambka Park (Cloudview). T-Ball players do not have attend tryouts. The players currently not on a team are assessed so each coach can draft to build a competitive team based on their knowledge of the score from the assessment.
The players skill sets evaluated are as follows: 1. Throwing, 2. Hitting, 3. Fielding Infield, 4. Fielding Outfield, 5. Running. Please bring your baseball gear to the tryouts.

LATE REGISTRATION - (Status: OPEN)
FMLL tries to accommodate as many players as possible. FMLL will be taking online registration as there are still slots on the teams, giving parents more time to register. In order to accommodate the most players, we determine the number of teams in each division the day after the last walk-up registration date. We can then determine the number of coaches we will need so that they can be at tryouts and then all coaches can see all of the players. This way, the draft can be as fair as possible and the talent on the teams be fairly distributed. At this time in the process, depending on the number of coaches we can recruit (returning or new), we may be completely full in a division. However, most times we have a few slots to fill. In order to make it fair to the players and give them all fair play time we try to limit the number of players on a team to 12. Obviously, we can not continue to add players endlessly and expect them all to get play time. We can not simply create another team, when we have to consider coaches, scheduling, uniforms and field availabillty. Therefore, in order to be fairest to all of the players, we operate on a first come, first served basis. The phrase "space is limited" that is on the website communicates the need to sign up as soon as possible.

If you bring in a team and don't have enough players to fill a roster, you will need to be at the draft to fill your roster. You position in the draft depends on how many players your have.
