On October 4, 2008 the Flyin' Hawks Cross Country Team competed in the McNeil Invitational meet in Round Rock, Texas. The BHS Boys Varsity finished 11th out of 42 teams and the Girls Varisty finished 29th out of 44 teams. Complete meet results are in the Handouts section of this website.

CONGRATS TO OUR BHS CROSS COUNTRY RUNNERS OF THE WEEK FOR SEPTEMBER 30^th- OCTOBER 5^th

Sophomore…..Destiny Fowler….She set a new PR with a time of 12:50 at the McNeil Invitational this last Saturday in Austin. She is also a current member of the Lady Hawk Track Team.

For the Guys the Recipient is….

Sophomore…Alex Smith…Despite suffering from flu-like symptoms, Alex led all JV runners at the McNeil Invitational with a time of 20:07 this last Saturday in Austin. Alex has done a tremendous job this season in preparation for the upcoming track season in which he holds the school record in the 400. He is also a member of the Hawk’s Basketball and Track Teams.

Great Job to these two Hawks and all BHS Cross Country Runners on a Job Well Done.

Parents and Students - We are collecting $10.00 from each athlete to pay for drinks and snacks at our cross country meets. We must do this in order to closely follow UIL Student Athletic rules. (We can't rotate snack duties). If you haven't paid this fee, please send $10.00 to Coach Brown as soon as possible. Thanks for contributing.

Updated Assault of Eagle Summit Information - October 11th Meet

Schedule Change: Rolling Schedule - As soon as the last runner is in sight we will start the next race.

First Race is @ 8:00a.m

· Varsity Black Girls: (4A & 5A)

· Varsity Black Boys: (4A & 5A)

Approximate Time: 8:50am

· Junior Varsity Black Girls: (4A & 5A)

· Junior Varsity Black Boys: (4A & 5A)

Other Races (3A and Under) follow

This schedule is in place with hopes that we won’t have a mad dash for parking early in the morning. Decatur High School is located up on a ridge. If you are not sure where to go “Look Up”.

Directions From the south: Travel north on 287: Exit Business 81/Business 287. Proceed north on Bus 81/287. Turn left at Carson Elementary School (you will be directed from that point).

Please consider supporting the Birdville High School Cross Country and Track & Field teams by joining the Flyin' Hawk Booster Club for the 2008-2008 school year. Individual memberships cost $20.00. Family memberships are $30.00. Membership dues directly support team activities. The Flyin Hawk' Booster Club Membership Registration is located in the Handouts Section of this website. Contact any Flyin' Hawk Booster Club officer for membership details. A list of Booster Club Officers is in the Board Section of this website.
