DANA BRIAN MULLEN
|

Dana Mullen is a 56 year old father of five, two daughters and three sons. He played football and wrestled in Northeastern Ohio during his high school years and attended Tallahassee Community College for one year. He coached his boys in baseball, football, track and cross country for seven years and his youngest daughter, Anna, in fastpitch for ten years. Dana has been coaching in softball for 20 years since 1987. He has been a pitching instructor for 16 years and worked as a pitching instructor for NJCAA school Brevard Community College, (two years), Division II school Florida Tech, (three years), and Division I Bethune-Cookman, (three years). His B-CC pitchers led the team to three NCAA regional appearances with two All-Americans.
Coach Mullen subscribes to, and follows in his training regimens, the work of Ernie Parker, Don Sarno, Fred Gay and Bio-Kinesioligist Dr. Sherry Werner.
He was also the pitching coach with the 14-U Rebels from Brevard County when the Rebels won the NSA Super World Championship in 2002. He now works with the pitchers from the Florida Elite Gold, the number 2 ranked Gold team in Florida. He has worked with pro pitchers Megan Mattews, Dee Dee Weiman, and Monica Triner, also coaches JoAnn Graf and Lauren Watten. He has voluntered to do many clinics with college age pitchers to help them earn summer funds. He has sent over 28 young pitchers to schools with full or partial athletic scholarships and has worked with approximately 1050 students instructing pitching over the years.
Coach Mullen has written extensively about fastpitch softball, both as a columnist for Softball Magazine (two years) and as a guest writer for British softball magazines, Double Play and Coach.
Dana gives private pitching lessons to his students in Central Brevard, and because he works with children, has passed background checks of the Brevard County School board (2006), Police Athletic League (2002) and FDLE.
Dana owns and operates Miracle Graphics in Rockledge, Florida.
In his spare time, Coach Mullen is an avid photographer and artist specializing in portrait work and figure studies.
He likes blonde jokes, football and high level softball wherever it's played.
Coach Mullen is currently working with the pitchers at Florida Tech in Melbourne Florida where last season they ranked in the top ten low ERA's in the nation in Division II softball.
