SPECIAL NOTE TO COACHES AND FANS:
Please keep in mind that although we feel the rankings are an honest assessment of the relative strengths of the top 50+ clubs, they are also highly subjective. Further complicating matters is that many of the 18 and 18 Gold teams listed played a fall schedule that included many JuCo's and Exposure tournaments where the whole point is not so much to win as it is attracting college recruitment attention. Many coaches pull ace pitchers and insert substitute players at critical times to let coaches assess the players' potential. The rules have changed at this level. The truth of the matter is, in a well-played game between a top five team and a bottom five team, we expect only a one or two run difference. That's not a lot when ranking 50+ teams in the Power Rankings section.

If anyone out there feels I have forgotten a worthy team or misjudged a ranking, please let me know at paintdog1@netzero.net
