                  The Florida Bombers open 2011 where they left off in 2010 , as the Nations # 1 Ranked Team. In 2011 the Bombers are the # 1 Ranked team in the country preseason. The Bombers are ranked # 1 in the country for good reason as the 2011 lineup could be the best in team history. The Bombers also return 2 of their top 5 starting pitchers in 2011 . The Bombers have 6 returning members from the 2010 National Championship team. The Bombers will look for their 7th WWBA National Championship as well as their first ever Connie Mack World Series Championship.

                  The Florida Bombers 16's and 18's both were crowned Champions of the 2011 Memorial Weekend Invitational. The Championship is the 3rd Memorial Weekend Title for the Bombers 16's , as the Bombers 16's won the event in 2007,2009,2011. The Bombers 18's snapped a 3 year slump as they win the title for the first time since 2007. The Bombers have won 3 Memorial Weekend Inviatationals as well.

In game 1 the Bombers 16's defeated the Broward Bangers by a score of 9-5 as the Bombers finished with a record of (3-1) on the tournament. The Bangers finished with a record of (2-2).

In game 2 the Bombers 18's defeated the Bombers 17's by a score of 12-9. The Bombers defeated the 17's late Sunday night by a score of 19-5. The Bombers finished the tournament with a record of (3-1).

Inthe 16's Taylor Korosec of the Bombers was named tournament M.V.P. , and in the 18's Sean Hurley was of the Bombers was named tournament M.V.P.

The Florida Bombers opened up 2011 in record fashion going (3-0) on the weekend , while outscoring its opponents by a score of 33-1. On Sunday the Bombers tossed back to back No Hitters in the Double Header sweep of the SF Breakers. Saturday Night the Bombers opened up against the Top Prospects from Melbourne with an impressive 11-0 win.On opening night it was a 7 run 1st Inning that put the game away quickly . The Bombers were led by Junior Blake Garrett who went 2-3 with A Double and 2 RBI'S. Matt Martin was 2-2 with 2 Triples and 1 RBI. Andre Gwyn was also 2-2 with a Triple and 2 RBI'S and 2 Runs Scored. Callahan Brown (1-0) tossed the Complete Game 2 Hit Shutout Strikingout 6.

 Game 1 Sunday the Bombers defeated the Breakers by a score of 11-1 . Roche Woodard led the Bombers going 4-4 with a Homerun 1 Triple and 2 Singles and 3 RBI'S. Sean Hurley was 2-2 with 1 RBI and Blake Garrett added 2 Doubles and 2 RBI'S Mtt Martin was 2-2 with an RBI. Jack English tossed 4 No Hit Innings while Strikingout 6. Steve Harrison added 2 scoreless and Hitless innings strikingout 2 and securing the No Hitter.

In game 2 the Bombers defeated the Breakers by a score of 11-0. Jace Herrera and Sean Hurley combined on the perfect game. Herrera went 4 Innings Strikingout 8 . Hurley Pitched the 5th strikingout 2. At the plate Sean Hurley added 2 hits including a Double and 1 RBI. Carlos Garmendia was 1-3 with 2 RBI'S. The Bombers now prepare to host the Florida Bombers Memorial Weekend Invitational starting May 27 at FAU.

In other news the Florida Bombers 17's opened up its 2011 season with a 6-1 win Saturday afternoon over the 17 and under SF Breakers.

# 8 is none other than the best closer the Florida Bombers have ever seen, Adam Sargent the 2010 Cy Young and Co MVP awards winner . Sargent was a key element of the Florida Bombers success in 2010 success that brought the Bombers a # 1 National Ranking, a (43-5) Record , another WWBA National Championship , a 3rd National Classic, and a 2nd FAU Showdown Title , Sargent also led the Bombers to a 35 Game Winning Streak which is the second longest in the history of the Bombers. Sargent not only tied the All Time Saves Record with (10) he was also 4-0 and set an All Time record that will never be broken with a 0.00 ERA for the entire season. And he also set a Bombers All Time Record pitching 26 Consecutive Scoreless Innings. "No way around it we would not of accomplished all the things we did in 2010 without Adam he was by far the best closer in Amateur Baseball in 2010"says Emilio Fernandez. Sargent was a huge part of the 2010 WWBA National Championship in Marietta , Georgia the Bombers 6 th National Title in Marietta. Sargent was 2-0 with 2 Saves in 5 Appearances in Marietta. He also had 1 Win and 1 Save in the 2010 AAABA Regionals. Sargent held opponents to a batting Average under .200 for the entire season as well as averaging 1.5 Strikeouts per Inning Pitched. "Sargent was as close to automatic as any pitcher at any level can and will ever be , in 2011 replacing Sargent will be our biggest task " says Fernandez.  The Bombers finished 2010 with a # 1 National Ranking and a 6th WWBA National Championship , and alot of that had to do with the Best Closer in Bombers History Adam Sargent.

# 9 Brings us the most dominant starting pitcher in the history of the Florida Bombers Matt Latos. Latos first jumped on the seen in 2005 with the Florida Bombers and a Fastball that reached 95 MPH. Latos currently pitches for the San Diego Padres and was in the running for Cy Young in 2010.In 2005 Latos helped the Bombers win their 3rd WWBA National Championship with a dominating performance against the Dulin Dodgers in the Quarter Finals . A week later Latos pitched a complete game 1-0 Win over the Florida Pokers at the 2005 Connie Mack State Playoffs. Latos had a Bomber record 14 Strikeouts that day against the Pokers. Latos has the most wins in a season without a loss as he finished 2005 with a record of (8-0) . "Till date i feel that staff in 2005 was our most dominant staff of All Times , so its fitting that we had the most dominant pitcher of All Times on that staff"says Emilio Fernandez. Latos finished 2005 with an ERA of 0.35 and 68 Strikeouts in only 36 Innings Pitched . Opponents batted .107 against Latos.The Bombers finished  (42-7) that season winnining their 3 rd WWBA National Championship as well as their 5th Consecutive Connie Mack State Championship.

# 10  David Espinosa   -   INF   -   2000

We start our countdown with the # 10 Best Player in Bombers History. David Espinosa led the Bombers to their first ever National Championship in 2000 as the Bombers won the USABF World Series in San Diego, California. Espinosa was a First Round Pick of the Cincinnati Reds that summer of 2000. Espinosa joined the Bombers after being selected by the Reds in the First Round when contract negotiations came to a halt. "Espinosa put the Bombers on the map that summer of 2000 , adding a player of his magnitude really gave our program the identity it needed back in those days. Not only was he a big name player , but he took that team to a differant level as seen by winning the 2000 USABF World Series " says Emilio Fernandez. Espinosa was a switch hitting Shortstop that played in 34 Games the summer of 2000. Espinosa is still the only Bomber in the history of the program to hit over .500 as he finished with a .511 Batting Average that summer. Hitting .500 wasnt Espinosa only great stat he also had 19 Stolen Bases as well as a Slugging Percentage og .783 and an On Base Percentage of .563. Espinosa had 35 RBI'S to go with 44 Runs Scored 10 Doubles 3 Triples and 3 Homeruns. Espinosa finished 2000 with 92 At Bats making that .511 Batting Average that much more impressive. "Thats a stat that i dont think will ever be broken as a matter of fact i dont think anyone will even come close to breaking that stat , David is one of the most complete offensive players to ever wear the Bombers Uniform, we still cherish his time with the program and we are still very thankful he was a Bomber"says Emilio Fernandez. David was named the Best Offensive Player that summer .

        Florida Bombers 10th Year Anniversary of the Organizations First Ever National Championship!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 

The Florida Bombers will be celebrating the Organizations first ever National Championship for the remainder of the year. In 2000 the Florida Bombers won the USABF World Series in San Diego, California capturing the first of what is now 12 National Championships. The Bombers ended 2000 with a record of (41-9) . "As we look back over the last ten years , that 2000 group was the one that put the Florida Bombers on the map , and paved the way to where we are today. That was a magical year as we captured the USABF Championship, it seems like just yesterday that we celebrated that special day in 2000" says Bombers President Emilio Fernandez.

Below is a recap of the 2000 season with the Championship Game recap. " When we won the Championship in 2000 we thought we had achieved it all , who would of known that 10 years later we would be the # 1 Ranked Team on the planet . 11 other National Championships have been won by this great organization and it all started with the first one in 2000" says coach Fernandez.

Armed with a philosophy and mind-set different from most, and an almost single-minded focus on working to be the nation’s best has helped separate the Florida Bombers from many of their top-notch travel-team brethren.

The Florida Bombers is a high school-age program that targets ninth, 10^th, 11^th and 12^th graders. All the teams play under the “Bombers” banner, and in the past several years anywhere between 150 and 180 players are involved during the summer.

Based in Miami, Fla., the Florida Bombers first started as a local team in 1998 when Emilio Fernandez, after a short two-year professional baseball career, decided to put together a team of high school-age players. The team was originally called the Miami Bombers in its first year, but switched to the Florida Bombers in 1999.

The program held tryouts for the first time in 1999 and it was in subsequent years things really took off. Every year this decade, the Bombers have fielded one of the most successful 18U teams in the country, one with 11 national championships to its credit.

“It’s been a pretty exciting ride and it’s come a long way from 1998 to now,” Fernandez said. “It’s been a pattern here over the last few years where early on in the summer we start off a little slow, and then once school’s over and guys are here and you’re able to kind of get into a routine that we started to play really, really good baseball.”

It was in 2002 when the Bombers first stepped onto the national stage and developed their singular focus. They won the inaugural Perfect Game USA WWBA 18U National Championship in Marietta, Ga., that year and were 50-0 at the completion of the tournament.

The Bombers went back to Marietta in 2003 and won again, and the WWBA 18U National Championship had officially become the focus of their summer season. They won back-to-back championships again in 2005-06, and added titles five and six in 2008 and this year. They have played in seven of the nine tournament championship games.

“It’s gotten a lot bigger, a lot more competitive over the years,” Fernandez said of the Perfect Game 18U WWBA Nationals. “That is basically what we pin our hats on. We feel that that’s just the most prestigious, most noteworthy event that goes on in the summer.”

The Bombers finished this summer season with a 43-5 record and at one point enjoyed a 33-game win streak.

The championships are special, of course, but the runner-up finish in 2009 is the event Fernandez can’t wipe from his mind.

The Bombers played in the championship game against the East Cobb (Ga.) Braves and took a 10-1 lead into the final inning, only to lose, 11-10.

“It was one of the most incredible things you’ll ever see in the game of baseball,” Fernandez said. “That was very tough to swallow a year ago. That was not easy and it stayed with us. We had a good core of players coming back in 2010, and all they talked about was getting back to that game and, obviously, winning it.”

The Bombers earned a rematch with Braves in the 2010 championship game and won dramatically when tournament MVP C.T. Bradford smacked an RBI single that scored the winning run in the bottom of the seventh.

“That was very rewarding for all the players and the organization,” Fernandez said. “It felt like it was a year in waiting, but we finally got to where we wanted to be.”

There are also Florida Bomber 17U and 16U teams.

“The 16-and-under team is usually a highly competitive club, and it’s a lot of young guys that we are looking to for the future,” Fernandez said. “We also have a Florida Bombers 17 which is mostly high school juniors that are good players and maybe not at the level of the 18-and-under Florida Bombers, but they are still good enough to have in your program and they’re going to compete very well and do a good job.”

Many of the players in the program are what Fernandez calls “organizational” players who may never be moved up to the elite 18U team.

“They may not be quite as talented, but they want to play and they want to play in an organized environment, they want to play on good fields and go to good tournaments,” Fernandez said. “We call those guys ‘organizational’ guys, guys who are going to be involved. They’re not (NCAA) Division I talent and they’re not even Division II players, but they’re good enough to go out there and participate.”

The Bombers have sent loads of players into the college ranks and dozens have been selected in the Major League Draft. This year alone, four members of the 2003 Bombers’ team made their Major League debuts – J.P. Arencibia with the Blue Jays, Jon Jay with the Cardinals, Mat Latos with the Padres and Danny Valencia with the Twins. Latos won 13 games in his first 23 starts with an ERA of 2.33.

Fernandez is thrilled to be a part of Perfect Game tournaments, where many of those current Major Leaguers first got noticed.

“I’ve had a very good relationship with Perfect Game throughout the years, and it was ’02 since I first became involved with them,” Fernandez said. “I think we have both treated each other with mutual respect.

“They obviously put the best teams on the field in the best environment possible to go after something that is very noteworthy and very prestigious. What they hang their hat on, at least in the summer months, is the (nationals) in Georgia and they do a very good job with that. I think the Florida Bombers are good for them and Perfect Game is good for us.”

Young players become involved with the Bombers through a “hands-on” approach practiced meticulously by Fernandez and the program’s other coaches.

 “I myself like to see the players play. I like to see them with my own eyes,” Fernandez said. “I like to figure out myself how they’re going to fit in with our club. You don’t always need the big name, high profile guy. You need the right guy, which is what I think we’ve been able to do over the last decade or so.

“Year after year we’re not only able to compete with all those high name guys but out-play those guys because we just feel that to be a successful club you need to put the right guys on the field, the guys that are going to buy into what you’re doing, the guys that are going to play hard and the guys that are going to lay it on the line.”

Fernandez will take a team to the Perfect Game WWBA 18U World Championships in Jupiter, Fla., at the end of October, but, but in their typical non-conformist style, the Bombers view that tournament a little differently than most of the other elite squads.

“It’s kind of a tryout period for us,” Fernandez said. “We’ll put together guys now that we’ll see or we’ll hear about or we’ll acquire, and we’ll do some research on them and we’ll put them on the field. We’ll see who we like, who we don’t like, who fits and who doesn’t fit. From there we’ll try to get a commitment from those players for the summer of 2011.”

Despite that approach, the Bombers have finished in the top-eight at Jupiter each of the past three years.

Pace High School’s C.T. Bradford has been named the 2010 Florida Dairy Farmers Mr. Baseball.

Bradford, a shortstop/pitcher, finished the 2010 season with a 12-0 record, a 1.19 ERA and 95 strikeouts. In addition he finished with a .473 batting average, 13 doubles, one triple, six home runs, 45 runs scored and 27 RBI, leading his team to a 29-2 record, the Class 5A state title and the No. 1 ranking in the ESPN Rise Fab 50 national prep poll.

Bradford will continue his playing career at Mississippi State University, the same school attended by his father, Mike, who played with the likes of Rafael Palmerio, Will Clark, and Jeff Brantley while attending school in Starkeville, Miss.

Also recognized on Friday was Bradford's coach, Charlie Warner.

Warner was named the Florida Baseball Coach of the Year by the Florida Dairy Farmers.

Pace finished the season with a 29-2 record and won the Class 5A state championship.

In his 19 years at Pace, coach Warner’s teams have won two state titles (2006 and 2010). He has a career record of 507-114 at Pace. Warner’s team finished the season with a 25-game winning streak and was ranked No. 1 in the final ESPN Rise Fab 50 national prep poll.

The winner of the 18th annual Mr. Baseball Award and Florida Baseball Coach of the Year, sponsored by Florida Dairy Farmers, Inc. and the Florida Athletic Coaches Association, was determined in voting by a statewide panel of high school baseball coaches and prep media representatives.

Bradford, who was earlier chosen the Class 5A Player-of-the-Year, finished ahead of Class 2A Player-of-the-Year David Thompson of Miami Westminster Christian, as well as winners in the four other state classifications.

Javier Marticorena of Hialeah American, the Class 6A Player-of-the-Year, finished third followed by Daniel Gibson of Tampa Jesuit (Class 4A), Chino Vega of Deltona Trinity Christian (Class 1A), and Brandon Sedell of Plantation American Heritage (Class 3A).

Warner, who was earlier chosen the Class 5A Coach-of-the-Year, finished ahead of Class 6A Coach-of-the-Year Ray Evans of Pembroke Pines Flanagan as well as winners from the four other state classifications.

Storm Davis of Jacksonville Bolles, the Class 3A Coach-of-the-Year finished third, followed by Emil Castellanos of Miami Westminster Christian (Class 2A), Bryan Maples of Deltona Trinity Christian (Class 1A) and Rich Bielski of Southwest Ranches Archbishop McCarthy (Class 4A).

The Florida Dairy Farmers Sports Awards program exemplifies Dairy Farmers Inc.'s commitment to the state's youth. While honoring the state's top athletes and coaches in 27 FHSAA-sanctioned sports, the program also emphasizes to young people the importance of keeping dairy products a primary part of their diet in their overall nutrition plan.

                    The Florida Bombers are riding an 11 game winning streak heading into the 2010  National Classic. The Bombers are coming off a 4 game sweep of some of the Nations Top Teams. The Bombers defeated # 25 Chet Lemon Juice, # 3 Orlando Scorpions, # 7 FTB Mizuno, and # 15 SF Elite  all in consecutive games at the UCF Tournament.  The Bombers outscored all 4 Nationally Ranked opponents by a margin of 26-7. The Bombers now gear up for the National Classic, the Bombers will be looking for a 3 Peat. "This team gets after it as well as any club we have ever had, we are looking to do big things and we are hungry"says coach Fernandez.The Bombers were crowned FAU Showdown Champions last week as the team finished 5-0 at the FAU Showdown defeating the SF Huskies 19's 4-1 in the Championship Game. Nolan Thomas was named FAU Showdown M.V.P.

The Florida Bombers defeated the SF Elite by a score of 11-1. Nolan Thomas, Adam Frazier, and Eric Jhones all Homered for the Bombers. Jhones finished 2 for 2 with 7 RBI'S including a Grand Slam and a 2 RBI Double. Frazier making his Bombers debut added 2 Hits including a Solo Homerun. Thomas belted his 2nd Homerun of the Season. Christo Jones (2-0) pitched 3 1/3 Innings Strikingout 5 while allowing 2 Hits and 0 Runs. Shawn Heide pitched the final 2 1/3 Innings Strikingout 5. The Bombers now move to (9-3) on the year.

Florida Bombers Baseball  2010 got off to a festive start Saturday Night at Barry University, as the Florida Bombers opened up their 2010 schedule versus the Florida Stars in front of over 600 fans. Opening night featured the largest home crowd ever to witness a Bombers game, and it also saw the return of Micheal Broad, Frankie Ratcliff, and Steve Ewing. The three former Bombers were presented their 2009 individual awards on opening night, and all three former Bombers took part in throwing out the ceremonial 2010 first pitch. Micheal Broad was awarded his 2009 M.V.P. Trophy, Frankie Ratcliff received the 2009 Gold Glove Award, while Steve Ewing took home the 2009 Cy Young Award. Opening night also saw a pre game parade of over 120 players that are all part of the Florida Bombers Organization, players were in full uniform and each team was led by their respective Head Coaches during the parade. The night featured a DJ blasting songs all night and an MC handling the ceremonies , pre game introductions, and PA during the game. On the field the Bombers opened up 2010 by making history defeating the Stars by a score of 5-3. The Bombers which open up 2010 as the Nations # 3 Ranked Team No Hit the Stars on opening night. Nolan Thomas set the tone early with a 2nd Inning leadoff Homerun to Right Field. "Early in the season its all about getting these kids on the same page our goal is to be ready for Marietta says coach Fernandez, we had alot of wide eyed kids out here this weekend , these kids play Highschool baseball , but most have never taken part in anything like Saturday night". The players went through a Live BP session as seen in the big leagues ,while infielders took ground balls. "We wont have a feel for how good we will be till about mid June once we get our guys back and playing full time , but nights like tonight make these kids realize that there is another world out there" says coach Sevilla. The Bombers took the series from the Stars winning 2 out of 3 games , as they split a Double Header Sunday morning. The Stars defeated the Bombers 2-1 in Game 1 while the Bombers took the rubber game by a score of 4-1. Now the Bombers will prepare to host the 2010 Memorial Weekend Invitational starting Friday at Westminster Academy. The Bombers have won this Tournament in 2001,2006,2007 yet have failed to win the event the last two seasons.

The 2010 AAABA Annual National meetings was held this past weekend in Orlando,Florida. The Florida Bombers the only Florida Franchise will be headed to the Altoona regionals starting play July 31 - Aug 3 . The winner of the Altonna regional will earn a berth in the 2010 AAABA World Series held in Johnstown, PA  August  9-15. The Florida Bombers will depart on July 29.

The following former members of the Florida Bombers have been nominated for Induction into the Florida Bombers Hall of Fame in 2009. In 2008 Gaby Sanchez became the first player ever inducted into the Florida Bombers Hall of Fame. The Florida Bombers finished 2009 as the franchise second winningest team of All Time with a 2009 record of (46-7-1)  .869 Winning PCT . In 2006 the Bombers also won 46 Games but that season they lost 8 games. 2009 brought some great moments that included a 25 game winning streak , the Florida Bombers National Classic Championship making it back to back National Classic Championships, it also saw the Bombers win the FAU Showdown. It saw the Bombers defeat 13 Teams that were Ranked in the Top 40 and 4 Wins over Teams Ranked in the Top 10 including a 4-2 win over the Nations # 2 Ranked Team the ABD Bulldogs.

2009 also brought the Bombers some difficult memories , none more difficult than the Championship game in the 2009 WWBA versus the East Cobb Braves, a game that saw the Bombers 3 outs away from capturing their 6 th WWBA National Championship only to squander a 10-1 lead and lose the game by a score of 11-10. The Bombers rebounded well after that devastating loss and were a perfect 9-0 in the BCS Championships only to lose to the St.Louis Pirates the eventual BCS Champion by a score of 4-1.So as the Bombers say good bye to 2009 it isnt without joy and agony that they await 2010. The Bombers have 9 returning players in 2010 led by Centerfielder CT Bradford and Rightfielder Dale Carey as well as Pitching Staff leader Ben Lively.

2009 also saw possibly the best second basemen in Bombers History Frankie Ratcliff play his final season , it saw Micheal Broad one of the best offensive Shortstops in team History, and CT Bradford one of the grittiest Bombers of All Time, as well as Micheal Ohlman one of the finest catchers to ever wear the Bombers uniform. On the mound Steven Ewing led the staff in wins and quality starts, Ben Lively every time out gave the Bombers a chance to win as he pitched 4 outstanding Innings in the 2009 WWBA Championship game putting the Bombers in position to win their 6 th Title only to fall short.

2009 saw Bombers catcher Micheal Ohlman sign a contract with the Baltimore Orioles in the neighborhood of 1 Million Dollars, 2008 Bombers M.V.P. JR Murphy signed a contract with  the  New York Yankees worth over 1 Million Dollars. Murphy is the only player in the history of the Florida Bombers to win the offensive Triple Crown as he did that in 2008. 2009 also saw 6 Juniors commit to 4 year college programs.

As 2010 approaches the Bombers organization will look to reach new heights with the  purchase of their own Baseball Facility as well as their Alumni Reunion weekend. The Bombers will now focus on 2010 with work beginning immediatly, like the Bombers slogen goes "Success is Never Final". The 2010 National Classic will be better than ever as will the 2010 FAU Showdown. The Bombers will look to get back to Farmington to win the Enevitable Connie Mack National Championship.

So we close the book on 2009 and look forward to a prosperous 2010.

The Florida Bombers (25-4) defeated the All American Prospects in the Championship game of the 2009 National Classic by a score of 7-5. The Prospects finished the Classic with a record of (5-1) as the Bombers finished (6-0). The 20 Team National Classic featured 4 programs that are Ranked in the Top 10 Nationally, matching up the Nations # 1 team versus the Nations # 4 Team.

Tournament M.V.P. Frankie Ratcliff a University of Miami signee got things going in the top of the first Inning with an opposite field Homerun to put the Bombers ahead 1-0. The Prospects tied things at 1-1 in the bottom of Inning # 2. The Prospects then took a 2-1 lead after 3 Innings of play, before the Bombers scored 3 Runs in the top of the fourth Inning on a Zeke Devoss 3 Run Homerun that put the Bombers up 4-2.The Prospects trimmed the lead in the bottom of the 4th Inning making it a 4-3 Ball game. Micheal Broad Doubled to open the 5th and was followed by a David Richardson Homerun to put the Bombers up 6-3. In the top of the 6th Inning the Bombers added a run to lead 7-3, before the Prospects rallied to cut the lead to 7-5. CT Bradford was brought in to pitch with 2 outs in the bottom of the 6th Inning with the tying run at the plate and got a ground ball out to finish the 6th Inning. Bradford Struckout the side in the 7th for his (1) Save of the year. The Bombers have now captured back to back National Classic Championships and have won 17 Games in a Row in 2009. "Right after the draft when we got back some of our guys we have played really consistant baseball, this season is very reminisant of last year when we ran off 27 wins in a row and played our best baseball during the WWBA National Championships, I think we are heading to Georgia this summer with the right frame of mind and playing with the tempo we were hoping for "says coach Fernandez. "We know how hard it is to win the WWBA Championship , but it is something we want to do bad this summer so now we have to look at the marathon we will have ahead of us starting Tuesday".

The Florida Bombers (20-4) defeated the SF Huskies in day 1 of pool play by a score of 8-7. The Bombers led 8-1 heading into the top of the 6th Inning, but had to hold off a bases loaded situation in the top of the 7 th Inning for the Win.

The Florida Bombers defeated the SF Elite Black Thursday night at FIU by a score of 13-3. The Bombers had a 16 hit attack. Boxscore will be posted tomorrow. The Bombers have now won 11 games in a row.

           The Florida Bombers the Nations # 1 Ranked Team defeated the Nations # 9 Ranked team the Diamond Vision Elite by a score of 8-3 in the Championship game of the 2009 FAU Showdown. The Bombers now (18-4) on the year finished the tournament with a record of 6-0.The Bombers had wins over Nationally Ranked SF Elite and Diamond Vision Elite. The tournament featured 19 teams in the 18 and under age group , the tournament featured 5 Teams that are Ranked Nationally by Perfect Game. The Bombers outscored their opponents in the playoff rounds by a score of 33-14. The Bombers have now won 10 games in a row including wins over Diamond Vision and Chet Lemons Juice. The Bombers will host a few games this week before playing host to the 2 nd annual Florida Bombers National Classic starting June 22. The 2009 Classic will feature teams like the All American Prospects, Orlando Scorpions, Chet Lemons Juice, SF Elite, Florida Pokers, just to name a few.

       The Florida Bombers (12-4) dominated the Nations # 8 Ranked Team Chet Lemons Juice by a score of 8-0 Tuesday Night at FIU. Kevin Alexander (2-0) pitched 5 Innings of 1 Hit Ball while strikingout 6 and allowing 0 walks. Brent Zimmerman was 2 for 4 with 2 Doubles and 5 RBI'S. David Richardson went 2 for 3 with a Double and 1 RBI. CT Bradford had 2 Hits 1 RBI and 1 Run Scored. The win over the over the Juice gives the Bombers 4 consecutive wins and also gives the Bombers 8 wins over Nationally Ranked Opponents. The Bombers now get ready to host the FAU Showdown in Boca Raton starting tommorrow.

Congratulations to current Bomber JR Murphy , Murphy was drafted in the 2nd Round of the Baseball draft Tuesday by the New York Yankees. Murphy the 2008 Florida Bombers M.V.P. is also a First Team All Bomber. Murphy has committed to the University of Miami. Congratulations to JR and his family.

The Florida Bombers (7-2) defeated the All American Prospects by a score of 12-0 in Game 3 to win the series versus the Countries # 4 Ranked 17 and Under Team . The Bombers took game 1 Saturday night by a score of 8-6 after jumping ahead 8-0 after 4 Innings of play. The Prospects took game 2 Sunday morning by a score of 6-3 before the Bombers exploded in the rubber game of the series as the Bombers scored 9 runs in the 1 st Inning and went on to the 12-0 win. The Bombers now have 5 wins over Nationally Ranked Teams.

              The Florida Bombers defeated the Florida Stars by a score of 3-2 Saturday night at FIU,it was the season opener for both teams. The Bombers which enter 2009 as the Nations # 1 Ranked team needed a 2 out rally to defeat the Florida Stars. The Stars entered the night as the Nations # 41 Ranked Preseason team. The Stars led the Bombers 2-1 heading into the bottom of the 7th Inning, started Scottie Allen was still on the mound for the Stars, Allen pitched the entire night going 6 2/3 Innings  in the 89-92 MPH Range.The Bombers put runners on 1st and 2nd with 2 Outs and brought leadoff hitter CT Bradford, with the count even at 2 and 2 Bradford laced a Double off the Left Field fence bringing home Dale Carey all the way from 1 st Base for the winning run. Bradford finished the night going 2 for 4 with 2 Doubles and 2 RBI'S.Antonia Alvarez added a Single for the Bombers.The Bombers got things going first as they took a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning. The Bombers led 1-0 till the top of Inning # 5 as the Stars scored 2 unearned runs to take the lead 2-1.The game stayed 2-1 till the bottom of the 7th Inning ,as the Bombers scored 2 Runs for the walk off win.  On the mound RHP Colby Sims went 4 Innings allowing 0 Runs while Strikingout 4. Kyle Finch (1-0) picked up the win pitching 3 Innings allowing 0 Earned Runs and Strikingout 3. The Bombers and Stars conclude the 3 Game Series tomorrow morning at FIU at 10:00 A.M.

           The 2009 Florida Bombers season opens Saturday May 16 at 7:00 P.M. at FIU. The Bombers open 2009 as the Nations # 1 Ranked team, a ranking that will be tested right off the bat ,as the Bombers will play host to the Nations # 41 Ranked Team the Florida Stars in a 3 game series, that concludes Sunday morning with a Double Header at FIU starting at 10:00 A.M. The 2009 version of the Florida Bombers will return a very very good core group led by 2008 M.V.P. and Best Offensive player of the year JR Murphy, Murphy is a University of Miami signee. The Bombers also return 2008 Cy Young Award winner Kevin Alexander, Alexander is a Florida Atlantic University signee. Also returning in 2009 are University of Miami signee 2B Frankie Ratcliff, University of Virginia Tech signee INF-RHP Brent Zimmerman. The Bombers also return University of South Florida bound Jimmy Falla. On the mound the Bombers also bring back University of FIU signee Albert Cardenas and University of East Tennessee LHP Josh Gonzaga. All in all the Bombers return 7 players from the 2008 WWBA National Championship team.                                                                                                                                                

Besides the returning players the Bombers have in what they feel the best recruiting class in the nation , a class that features 5 University of Miami signees , 1 NC State signee, 1 North Florida Signee, 1 University of East Tennessee signee, and 1 Barry University Signee.Also Junior Outfielder and LHP CT Bradford has verbally comitted to the University of Mississippi State.All in all the Bombers have 17 Division One players on their opening day roster. 2009 does not come without expectations says coach Fernandez"anytime you wear the Bombers uniform expectations follow, and that is the best thing about being a memebr of this organization, people expect you to win and we expect to win so everyday is a challenge to meet those expectations".The Bombers will be looking to expand on their WWBA Dynasty status as they will seek their 6th WWBA National Championship in 8 years. The season tickets work in different ways as well , if a parent would like to bring himself plus 2 friends they will be covered that day by the season pass.

The Florida Bombers Organization continues to grow and expand with every passing day. The Florida Bombers would like to announce the addition of the Junior Bombers to the Organization. The Bombers organization will be introducing the Junior Bombers Baseball , which will feature leagues for players ages 3-6. Players ages 3 and 4 will play in the Bombers Tee Ball Division, and players ages 5 and 6 will play in the coach pitch division. The Junior Bombers league will begin play January 31 ,2009 . The league will play out of Continental Park located at 10000 SW 82nd Ave in Miami , Florida. Registration is currently open.

The Florida Bombers have added more talent to the 2009 roster. The Bombers which enter 2009 as the Nations # 1 Ranked Team are now stronger.The newest members of the Bombers are as follow.

RHP   -  Junior   Ben Lively, Ben is a 2010 6"4 RHP the currently is in the 86-89 Range. Lively will be one of the top 2010 pitchers in the country. Ben will be looked at to provide depth to an already incredible pitching staff. The Bombers look for big things from Ben in 2009.

INF   - Junior   David Perkins, David is another 2010 addition to the Bombers. David is one of the better offensive infielders in the country, and will be a big time Division 1 prospect. David will be an impact bat in 2009 and will give the Bombers depth at all infield positions.

OF-INF - Senior Zeke Devoss , Zeke is a University of Miami signee . Zeke is a switch hitting OF that plays the speed game better than most. Zeke is a 6.6 runner with plus instincts and tools.

The Florida Bombers have added a 3 Game series with the All American Prospects. The Bombers will play the Prospects May 30,2009 at 7:00 P.M. at FIU , followed by a Double Header May 31 at FIU starting at 10:00 A.M.

The Bombers now are waiting to hear back from the  Florida Legends in regards to scheduling for the 2009 season. "We have done everything we can to schedule the Legends , we are waiting to hear back from them"says Coach Fernandez. "We want to play the best possible competition , we want to be ready come playoff time, we added the Prospects now we wait for the Legends"says coach Starr.

The Bombers 2009 schedule is about 75 % completed, as they need to add a few more regular season games.

The Florida Bombers are Ranked # 1 in the Country by PG Crosschecker in their preaseason 2009 Rankings. PG Crosschecker put out the Top 64 Ranked Teams in the country,placing the Bombers at the top.

In 2008 the Bombers won their 5 th WWBA National Championship as well as their 7th Connie Mack State Championship. The Bombers also won their 1st ever Florida Bombers National Classic.

The Bombers 2009 team features a great core of returning players to go along with a great recruiting class that includes a total of 12 Division 1 Signees including 6 University of Miami signees.

In 2008 the Bombers faced 9 Teams that are currenttly ranked in the Top 64 teams in the country , the Bombers went 10-3 versus the Countries Top 64 Teams in 2008.

The Florida Bombers 2008 banquet was a great success, as it saw the Induction of Gaby Sanchez into the Florida Bombers Hall of Fame. Gaby becomes the first ever Bomber inducted into the Hall of Fame. The 2008 WWBA National Championship Members also received their Championship Rings.The evening also saw a great slide show compliments of Carolina Murphy for all her pictures.And finally the individual award winners were announced.

The Bombers which are coming off a very impressive showing in Jupiter ,without two of its key members look primed to win their first ever Connie Mack World Series.In 2009 the Bombers will look to do something that has never been done before, that is win their 6th WWBA National Championship, and their First Connie Mack World Series  Championship.Looking at some of the new talent the Bombers are in great position to make history once again.

A look at the newset members

RHP-INF - Anthony Tzamsis   88-91 mph Anthony has committed to NC State as is considered the best pitching prospect in Dade County. Anthony is also a solid two way guy that can swing the bat and play defense.Anthony is a Nationally Ranked Senior.

RHP- Colby Sims  - Sims is 88-91 and is currently Ranked in the Nations top 75 ,2010 players. Sims is a top Division 1 talent as he will be one of the highest touted Bombers in 2009.Sims will be one of the Bombers top pitchers this summer .

LHP - Steve Ewing - Ewing is a front line LHP that has committed to the University of Miami. Ewing is 87-89 with a plus Breaking Ball and solid Change Up. Steve will be one of the Bombers top pitchers in 2009 as he should be atop the rotation this coming summer. 

RHP - Nick Krolczyk  - Nick is a big 6"4 2010 Junior out of Coral Springs, that looks to be a power arm here in the near future. Nick currently sits in the 86-87 range with much more in him. Look for Nick to make big noise this summer.

RHP - Ben Lively - Ben is a 6"4 Junior 2010 RHP . Ben is coming on strong as he has jumped on the National scene. Ben is a plus body guy with all the tools to be a top guy this summer. Currently Ben shows 86-88 with a solid 3 pitch arsenal. Ben should be 88-91 if not better very very soon as the ball leaves his hands very clean and with very little effort. Ben is a very good student and he should be a top recruit in 2009.

1B - Mike Parker - Parker is a 6"4 Left Handed Hitting First Basemen. Parker is one of the Nations premier offensive players. Parker is looked at as a plus power guy that will hit for Average. Parker is one of the Nations top 2010 players .

SS - Micheal Broad - Broad is a University of Miami recruit, and one of the Nations best Shortstops. Broad will be a staple in the Bombers success in 2009. The Bombers feel Broad is the best Shortstop in the State of Florida , and are very excited to have him as a member of the organization.

OF-RHP - David Richardson - The Bombers have added 5 tool talent David Richardson to the 2009 Outfield.Richardson is a 6.6 Runner with Plus Plus Arm Strength. Richardson fits the mold of Bomber players, he can help you win games in many different ways.

1B-LHP -Johnny Cole - Cole is a 2010 player from Broward County that is looked at as a two way talent. Cole hands down is one of the Nations best defenders at First Base as well as a good looking offensive talent. On the mound Cole is 84-86 with a solid breaking ball. Cole will be one of the Bombers top Juniors in 2009.

The Florida Bombers have added 3 more pieces to the 2009 puzzle. The Bombers have added CF - LHP CT Bradford, OF-LHP Zac Houck, and Catcher -RHP Luke Guarnaccia. "We feel the addition of these 3 talentd Juniors sets us up well for the 2009 season,Bradford in my opinion is the best Centerfielder in our State hands down, he is the type of player that has made the Florida Bombers what they are, we are very fortunate to have a talent like CT"says coach Fernandez. "Houck is another Bomber type of player, he is a very good runner that knows how to hit and can playall 3 Outfield positions, and Luke in my opinion is one of the most athletic catchers we have seen in a very , very long time, all 3 of these 2010 players will have a great Bomber career"says coach Starr.

6"4 University of Miami signee Micheal Ohlman has committed to the Florida Bombers for the 2009 season. Ohlman is a Catcher with plus defensive skills to go along with tremendous offensive ability. Ohlman stands an impressive 6"4  205 LBS. "In our opinion we feel Ohlman can be the best cather in the state of Florida, his skills package is just as good as any catcher in the state , we are very excited to have Mike with us in 2009 " says Josh Starr.

Murphy and Alexander were both named to the First Team All Bombers. 3B Raiko Alfonso was named to the Second Team, while 1B Rony Rodriguez, LHP Justin Leith and LP Josh Gonzaga were named to the Third Team. JR Murphy just completed the finest offensive year in the history of the Florida Bombers, while Kevin Alexander completed one of the most complete pitching seasons in the history of the Florida Bombers.

The Florida Bombers (39-6-2)defeated the Miami Powerhouse by a score of 5-3 in Round One of the Southeast Regionals played at Ft.Lauderdale Stadium. John Brabbia (6-1) got the win pitching 5 + Innings allowing 1 Run, scattering 4 Hits while Strikingout 5. Josh Gonzaga got the Save (1) getting the last out of the game with runners on 1st and 2nd.Raiko Alfonso was 2 for 4 with 1 Double and 1 RBI.Rony Rodriguez was 2 for 2 with 2 Runs Scored.Frankie Ratcliff was 1 for 3 with a Double and 1 RBI.JR Murphy added an RBI Single.Anthony Angulo added 2 hits. The Bombers will play the Memphis Tigers at 1 P.M. on Thursday in Round 2.

The Florida Bombers (38-6-2)defeated the Miami Lakes Bombers by a score of 8-2 in the Championship Game of the Connie Mack State Tournament.The Florida Bombers now have won State Championships in 2001,2002,2003,2004,2005, and 2008.The Bombers will now gear up for the Southeast Regionals which begin Wednesday July 23 at Ft.Luaderdale Stadium.The Bombers will open up versus Miami Powerhouse at 1:00 P.M.

In the Championship game of the State tournament Kevin Alexander (8-0) pitched 5 + Innings to earn the win.JR Murphy connected on his (10)  Homerun of the year. Jimmy Falla added a 3 Run Homerun his (4)  of the year. Falla finished the game 3 for 3 , also adding a Single and Double. Carlos Lopez also connected on a 2 Run Homerun his (5)  of the year.

The Florida Bombers pride themselves on being an instrumental tool for players to move on and play college baseball. Every year numerous Bombers commit to Division 1 schools, and 2008 is no exception. So far the Bombers have seen several of its 2009 grads commit to college.

MARIETTA - Brent Zimmerman isn't a fulltime starting pitcher for the Florida Bombers but he looked like one against the Illinois Sparks 18U Black.

His strength is playing shortstop but he was called upon to pitch in the championship game of the World Wood Bat Championships against the Sparks at the East Cobb Baseball Complex on Monday morning.

He took the hill and slowed down the high-octane Sparks offense as the Bombers prevailed 3-2 to win their fifth championship in the last seven years.

Zimmerman did yield two runs on four hits and had just four strikeouts for his Miami-based squad. But what made him so effective was how quickly he was getting hitters out. His pitch count never went beyond 12 in an inning and finished the game with just 65 pitches.

"(Monday), he was the best guy for the job," Bombers coach Emilio Fernandez said. "For him to go out there and throw a complete game against a good offensive team was unbelievably impressive."

Three of Zimmerman's four strikeouts came against the first four batters faced, but started having trouble afterwards. The fifth batter he faced, Tony Zych, hit a double to left field off a first-pitch offering that was high in the strike zone. Zimmerman also made the same mistake to Nick Brown, who ripped a double to center off the first pitch to bring Zych home.

Two batters later, Sam Munson hit a single to center off Zimmerman to score Brown, giving the Sparks a 2-0 against a pitcher that was showing first-inning dominance. Zimmerman's first inning stuff returned after Munson's single as he sat down 11 straight batters.

"I told coach I didn't need any help and that I was going to get through the whole game," Zimmerman said. "The whole tournament, we put up lots of runs and lots of hits so I was had to get out of the (second) inning without self destructing."

Zimmerman managed to get help from his offense in the third inning as the Bombers put up three runs. After the Bombers worked the pitch count to Sparks starter Chris Wakefield of Canton in the first two innings, they started hitting him in the third.

Raiko Alfonso's single with one out in the third got things started for the Bombers. After Rony Rodriguez walked on four straight pitches, J.R. Murphy delivered an RBI hit to put the Bombers on the board. Both Rodriguez and Murphy came home on a two-run double by Carlos Lopez.

The Sparks had runners on second and third with two outs in the sixth but Joey Debernardis grounded to Zimmerman on the first pitch. And with two outs in the seventh, Brown made Zimmerman throw six pitches to a batter for the first time since the fourth inning but popped foul to the catcher to end it.

"We ran into a good pitcher and sometimes that happens. You just have to tip your hat," Sparks coach Bill Copp said. "That guy (Zimmerman) shoved it on us."

n The East Cobb Yankees yielded 10 first-inning runs in their semifinal game against the Sparks en route to a devastating 10-4 loss.

They went through three pitchers in the first, allowing 15 Sparks batters to come to the plate.

The Yankees held them scoreless the rest of the way but scoring four runs wasn't enough to account for the first inning damage. Evan Martin and Kyle Farmer were both 3-for-4 for the Yankees, and Brandon Miller and Jason Stolz each hit home runs.

We have completed two days of pool play in the Florida Bombers National Classic. In what has been a great two days of pool play, a few teams remain undefeated. The Florida Bombers completed a perfect weekend with a Double Header sweep Sunday at Mark Light Stadium.In game 1 the Bombers defeated the Miami Lakes Pirates 6-5 to move to (14-5) on the year. JR Murphy 2 Run Homerun (1) st of the year in the 5th Inning put the Bombers up 5-3. Rony Rodriguez added a 2 RBI Single in the 5 Run 5th Inning.Niko Fraser was 2 for 4 with a Double and 2 Runs Scored. Joel Capote added 2 Hits and 1 RBI. Frankie Ratcliff added a Solo Homerun (1) in the 5th Inning to end the scoring.Eric Rice pitched 2 plus Innings to earn the win (1-0) . Kevin Alexander picked up the Save (4) Strikingout 4 in 2 Innings of work.

In game 2 the Bombers pounded Powerhouse by a score of 9-1. Jimmy Falla was 2 for 3 with a Grandslam (2) . Falla finished with 4 RBI'S. Joel Capote (2) and JR Murphy (2) added Solo Homeruns. Raiko Alfonso was 2 for 3 with a 2 Run Homerun (1) . Mike Tomasi (1-0) pitched 5 Innings allowing 1 Run to pick up the win. The Bombers now move to (15-5) on the year , and have now won 7 games in a row.

The Florida Bombers completed a Double Header sweep Saturday over the Florida Pokers,at the University of Miami. The Bombers defeated the Pokers 8-2 in Game 1, followed by an 11-1 Win in Game 2.

John Brabbia (4-0) picked up the win in game 1 pitching 5 Innings ,while Strikingout 4.Albert Cardenas was 2 for 3 with a 2 Run Homerun in the 5th Inning.Niko Fraser added a Single and 2 SB's.JR Murphy was 2 for 3 with 2 RBI'S.Franke Ratcliff added an RBI Double ,Brent Zimmerman added an RBI Single and Joe Hudson added an RBI Double. The Bombers will be back in action Sunday at 10:00 A.M. versus the Miami Lakes Pirates at the University of Miami, followed by a 12:45 P.M. game versus Miami Powerhouse at the University of Miami.

Florida Bombers alumnus Jamile Weeks, Yonder Alonso,Carlos Gutierrez, and Eric Hosmer were all drafted in the First Round of the 2008 Major League Draft. Alonso played for the Bombers from 2003-2005, Weeks played for the Bombers in 2004,2005,Gutierrez played in 2004. Gutierrez, Weeks and Alonso were part of the Bombers first ever Connie Mack World Series Team.Hosmer was part of the Bombers 2nd Connie Mack World Series Team in 2006.Weeks ,Gutierrez,and Hosmer are all First Team All Time Florida Bombers Selections and Alonso is a 2nd Team All Florida Bombers selection.

The Florida Bombers completed a 3 game sweep of the Brevard Stars Sunday .In game 1 the Bombers were trailin 6-0 after 2 Innings,but came from behind to defeat the Stars by a score of 8-7. The Bombers offense came to life in the 3rd inning scoring 8 runs while banging out 7 hits in the inning.Eric Doty got a Hold (1) and Kevin Alexander picked up the Save (1) of the year. John Brebbia picked up the win (1-0) in relief.Niko Frasor had 2 Hits and Scored 1 Run.Frankie Ratcliff added a pair of hits for the Bombers while also scoring 1 Run.Joe Hudson  added a pair of hits and 2 RBI'S for the Bombers. The Florida Bombers opened up 2008 in typical Bomber style, with a win. The win marks the Bombers 9th consecutive opening day win. The Bombers defeated the Brevard Stars on Saturday night at FIU by a score of 10-0. The Bombers pitching staff combined to throw a No-Hitter on opening night. Starter Brian Johnson (1-0) went 4 Innings of no hit ball,while Strikingout 5. Johnson was followed by Eric Doty, and Josh Gonzaga.The Bombers also put together a 12 hit attack against the Stars led by Jimmy Falla who went 2 for 3 with 3 RBI'S.JR Murphy was 2 for 4 with 2 RBI'S and 1 Run Scored and 1 Double. Joel Capote was 2 for 2 with 2 RBI'S.Rony Rodriguez was 1 for 1 with an RBI Double in the 1 st Inning.Brent Zimmerman ,and Raiko Alfonso added Doubles . Frankie Ratcliff also added an RBI Double. Niko Frasor added an RBI Single.Anthony Angulo added a Single and 1 Run Scored.

The Bombers will be back in action Sunday May 18 at 9:00 A.M. at FIU versus the Brevard Stars in game 2 of a 3 game series. Game 3 will follow 20 minutes after the conclusion of Game 1.

The 2008 Florida Bombers schedule is nearly complete, and looks to be among the toughest schedule in team history. The Florida Bombers will host several of the states top programs this summer ,including a series with out of state power the Atlanta Bluejays."Well in June we will play the Pokers,Powerhouse,Tampa Bay Raiders,West Florida Young Guns,Atlanta Bluejays and we will compete in the UCF Invitational and our National Classic, that will be a very challenging month, but we feel it will prepare us for Marietta, as well as our State Tournament ,Regionals and Farmington"says coach Fernandez.   Besides the month of June the Bombers will play in the World Wood Bat National Championships, which is always among the strongest tournaments in the country.In May the Bombers will also play host to the Brevard Stars, Florida Riptide ,as well as hosting the Florida Bombers Memorial Weekend Invitational.

On top of a very active schedule the Bombers play in their own Connie Mack State League ,which features the Bluesox which won well over 20 games in 2007, as well as the Braves and Bruins."In 2008 it seems we wont be able to take many days off as a team , because most if not all the teams on our schedule can beat anyone "says recruiting coordinator Josh Starr. The 2008 season kicks off with a 3 games series versus the Brevard Stars on May 17 at 7:00 P.M. at FIU.

The Bombers have big expectations in 2008 ,and by the looks of things they have not backed down from playing the best of the best. If the Bombers can make a push at 50 wins in 2008 , without a doubt that should be considered a tremendous accomplishment."We do have big goals in 2008, we want to reclaim our tournament in Marietta this summer, by winning our 5th WWBA National Championship., and beyond that anything less than Farmington will be a disappointment for us"says coach Fernandez.

The Florida Bombers National Classic, which will be held from June 22-28 in Miami,Florida is gearing up to be one of the nations top tournaments.This event will be a yearly event, although this is the events first year. "We have put alot of work into this National Tournament , and we are expecting one of the finest and strongest tournaments in the country"says Scott Patterson. The event truly will be a National Tournament, as 5 different States will be represented.     

"This is another big step in our programs forward progress, I have been attending tournaments for the last decade and we feel we have the knowledge and work ethic to make this event one of the finest in the country"says President Emilio Fernandeaz. So far the tournament has 22 participants , although that number should increase over the next few weeks."The plan all along was to cut out the tournament at 24 teams,but with the overwhelming interest in the tournament , we might have to push the number to 32 teams"says Fernandez.

The tournament has some unique features that should seperate it from other national events.The event will have a Homerun derby on Sunday June 22, followed by a opening tournament banquet style dinner.On Wednesday all players and coaches will be attending the Florida Marlins vs Tampa Bay Rays game.The event will also feature nationally broadcasted games live on the internet.And the finishing touch is a M.V.P. Ring to the Tournaments most outstanding player."We know that when teams leave this event ,they will want to come back year after year, and thats the goal, we want to put on a great show for the kids, coaches, and parents"says Josh Starr.

"We know the field is going to be very good ,we know the team from Texas will be very good , as will the team from Ohio, Georgia always has very good teams so when you combine those out of state teams with some of our top in state teams like the Orlando Scorpions, Florida Pokers,Miami Powerhouse, Chet Lemons Juice Etc, you know the field will be very good"says coach Fernandez.

The Florida Bombers will call the University of Miami home in 2008. The Bombers made their decision official last night January 28."What better place for the Florida Bombers to play their home games than the University of Miami, we feel extremely fortunate to have this opportunity"says Bombers Presidant Emilio Fernandez.

The Bombers will also be using the University of Miami for their National Classic in June.  The Bombers have had over 40 players play at the University of Miami over the years. The Bombers will kick off their 2008 season May 17.

      The 2008 season is about 6 months away and the Florida Bombers have been as busy as ever. The 2008 teams are starting to take shape, as the Bombers have introduced a new team to the program. The Florida Bombers organization will be introducing the Unsigned senior team in 2008.After the success of 2007 the organization is looking to build on that success.

Here is a look at what the Florida Bombers Organization has to offer

Teams

Florida Bombers 18's        -  The Florida Bombers 18's are viewed as one of the nations best teams , over the last decade the Bombers 18's have been among the top 3 teams in the country and have dominated the WWBA National tournament.

Bombers Bluesox 18's       - The Bluesox 18's finished 4th at the B.E.S.T. National Championships in 2007. The Bluesox which finished their first year with a record of 25-18 , were among the best teams in the State of Florida. The Bluesox Carlos Lopez committed to Wake Forest University , making him the first Big Time Division 1 player in team history.The Bluesox compete at the top National Tournaments in the Country including the WWBA in Maritta,Georgia.

Bomber Braves 17's          - The Braves 17's is designed for 2009 graduates . The Braves will be competing at all of the major showcase tournaments in 2008. The Braves will be playing at the  WWBA 17's in Marietta,Georgia. The Braves will also compete at the BCS events held in the state of Florida. The Braves will only carry 2009 players. In 2007 the Braves finished with a record of 19-19 . RHP Mike Tomasi committed to Florida Atlantic University making Tomasi the first Division 1 Commitment in team history.

Unsigned Seniors GPA Team - This team is designed for players that are uncommitted to college , but yet are Division 1 qualifiers. To be eligible for this team you must be a 2008 graduate and carry a GPA minimum of 2.4 and a score of 900 or better on the SAT or and 18 or better on the ACT. The GPA team will mostly travel to showcase tournaments giving their players the best possible opportunity to play in front of coaches seeking unsigned seniors. This team will travel to the WWBA in Marietta , Georgia . The GPA team will compete in 5 or 6 Showcase tournaments.

Florida Bombers 16's            - This team which qualified and advanced to the Mickey Mantle World Series in 2007 was viewed as one of the best 16 and under teams in the country. The Bombers 16's will provide a player develompment process in which players will have the opportunity to move up the ladder with the Florida Bombers Organization. The Bombers 16's will compete at the Junior Olympics tournament as well as competeing in the Mickey Mantle division in AABC.

Bomber Bluesox 16's            - the Bluesox 16's experienced tremendous success in 2007 finishing with a record of 22-18. The Bluesox 16's will carry mostly freshmens and compete at the same events as the Bombers 16's. The Bluesox 16's will give younger players the opportunity to develop and grow towards playing on the Bombers 16's.

The Florida Bombers Scout Team finished in the top 8 at the Perfect Game National Fall tournament in Jupiter last week.The final 8 finish was the best  in team history for this event. The Bombers which lost to the eventual runner up the Orlando Scorpions had a 6-0 lead on the Scorpions but , could not hold on.The Bombers which played 6 games in less than 60 hours where a little short on pitching for that final 8 game versus the Scorpions. The Bombers Scout Team which only featured 3 2008 Grads had the youngest team among the final 8 clubs.

The Bombers scout team featured 13 committed Bombers for the 2008 Summer season. "We saw some great chemestry out there this weekend I think this will go a long way for this group as we gear up for a return to Farmington'says coach Starr.

The Bombers had to many individual performences to mention all of them , but it was a great weekend of baseball from this group."We are doing things a little different this fall , we want these guys to play as much as possible together in order to develop that sense of being a teammate"says coach Fernandez."You could see these guys really pulling for each other and you could see these guys playing hard , that has been a trade mark of this organization and we want to make sure this group understands that"says coach Fernandez.

The Florida Bombers scout team is set to compete at the Worldwoodbat National Showcase tournament , that starts today in Jupiter , Florida. The Bombers roster will feature 12 players from the 2008 summer roster. Veteran Bombers Tyler Pastornicky, Anthony Angulo, Eric Doty, and Joey Housey will lead the way.

The Bombers will get their first look at Jimmy Falla,Gage Upthegrove, and Joe Hudson in a Bomber uniform this weekend.

The Florida Bombers organization prides itself on always being two steps ahead of the competition.Sunday the Bombers proved once again to be the top program in the state of Florida.The Bombers held the first ever Junior scout day at Sunset Highschool. The event featured 30 of the States top 2009 players.The event also featured some of the countries top dividsion 1 schools as well as division 2 schools.

Among the headliners at the event were committed Florida Bombers Jimmy Falla, Brian Johnson, Chase Green , JR Murphy, Jacob Johnson, Jay Laurienzo, Frankie Ratcliff, and Joe Hudson.

"We want this to be a yearly national event, yesterday was a monumental day in the Florida Bombers Baseball program, we feel we took six steps forward yesterday as an organization"say VP Mike Quintana.

"No one and I mean no one out works us and no one provides more for its players than we do , and thats something we pride ourselves in we never want to lose focus of that and yesterday was a great reminder of what the Florida Bombers Organization is all about"says Presidant Emilio Fernandez.

Newly promoted recruiting coordinator Josh Starr enjoyed a very successful first weekend on the job.The Bombers landed 9 of the Nations best Juniors and 1 of the Nations best freshmens.The Bombers have now received 24 commitments in their quest of winning the 2008 Connie Mack World Series.

The Bombers which return 11 players from their 2007 club seem as the early favorites of reaching the World Series in 2008.

"This organization has always looked for a special type of player , we go after winning players and players that fit our system and the newsest recruits fit that mold'says coach Starr.

National Championships.Patterson was recently named the Head Coach of the Florida Bombers 16's.Coach Patterson and the Bluesox had wins over teams like the Midland Indians, Miami Powerhouse,Florida Pokers,Bama Bombers,Louisiana All Stars just to name a few.Coach Patterson wins the first ever coach of the year award.

The Florida Bombers have joined forces with the Miami Wave. The Miami Wave coaches have become the newest members of the Florida Bombers organization.

The Wave coaches will take over the 18 and under Bomber Bluesox program. The Bluesox program is coming of a great first season, one which saw the Bluesox finish 2007 with a (25-17) record.

Bomber Blue Sox Coaching Staff:


Matthew Diaz has agreed to become the manager of the Bomber Blue Sox 18U after its
successful inaugural season in 2007.  Currently, Diaz is the varsity pitching coach
for the District Champion Michael Krop Senior High Lightning baseball squad.  Diaz
is a graduate of Palm Beach Atlantic University where his team won an NCCAA South
Regional and he also played at Rollins College & Oglethorpe University.  Professionally,
Diaz was named to the independent Arizona Winter League?s All-League Team and pitched
for the Herkimer Trailbusters of the New York State League.  Previously he served
as the manager & general manager of the Miami Wave amateur baseball organization.

Jason Sullivan joins Matthew Diaz after having served as the 3rd base coach &
handling hitting duties for the Miami Wave in 2007.  Sullivan is the hitting coach
at Michael Krop Sr. High as well.  Sullivan is a graduate of Nova Southeastern University
and also played at Florida Atlantic University.  His 3 year professional career
ended on a high note when he won the Frontier League Championship with the Kalamazoo
Kings.

Louis Diaz has been a staple of amateur baseball in South Florida over the past
15 years.  In the past he has served as the president of the Kendall Hammocks Optimist
Club and its baseball program and most recently has been the team president and
bench coach for the Miami Wave.  Since founding the Miami Wave, Diaz has seen 24
players in his program in the past three years move on to play collegiate baseball.
Last season, the Wave finished as the Florida Runner-Up in the AABC Connie Mack
division and garnered a berth in the AABC Connie Mack South Regionals.

The Florida Bombers would like to welcome Matt Diaz,Louis Diaz and Jason Sullivan to the greatest organization in the country.

"When this situation presented itself we knew we had to make this happen, the Wave is a program that we have always respected . I have always felt Matt and his coaches were top notch all the way around,we know these guys will help the Bombers program continue to grow"says Bombers CEO Emilio Fernandez.

The Florida Bombers organization will be holding tryouts for the 2007 Fall Showcase season as well as the 2008 Summer Baseball season.
The dates for the tryouts are
16 and under Aug 25
18 and under Aug 26

Tryouts will be at Sunset Highschool starting at 9:00 A.M. both Saturday and Sunday

All of the 2007 members of the Florida Bombers organization will be required to tryout for the 2007 Fall Showcase season as well as the Summer season of 2008.

The Florida Bombers organization will be starting a new team for the 2008 season that will be for unsigned seniors only. The name of the team has not yet been determined
the team will only feature players that are uncommitted to college also players must have a minimum of
a 2.4 GPA as well as a 900 on the SAT or an 19 on the ACT.

               Coach Scott Patterson which led the Bomber Bluesox 18's to a (26-15) record  and a 4th place finish in the BEST World Series in 2007 has been promoted to Head Coach of the Florida Bombers 16's. Coach Patterson will bring pitching coach Andy Hernandez with him. The two combined on a very successful inaugural season for the Bluesox in 2007. Coach Patterson had victories over programs like Midland and the Louisiana All Stars as well as the Bama Bombers and The Florida Pokers in 2007.Coach Patterson and coach Hernandez will look to build on the success that the 2007 Bombers 16's had. The Bombers 16's reached the Mickey Mantle World Series in 2007. The goal for the 2008 season is to win the Mickey Mantle World Series.

Coach Patterson did establish the Bomber Bluesox 18 and under program and paved the way for new coach Bart Hunton. The Bluesox program was as solid as any program in the State of Florida and produced several college scholarships in the 2007 season.

"We are very excited to make this announcement , we feel Scott is a great guy for this job and we feel he can take the program to an even higher level in the next years "says VP Mike Quintana.

Coach Bart Hunton which also directed a very successful 2007 season has been promoted to the Head Coaching job of the 18 and under Bluesox.Coach Hunton led the 16 and under Bluesox to a 2007 record of (22-17) and finished 5th at the Scott Fletcher World Series.Coach Hunton has not yet announced a pitching coach for the 2008 season although a front runner would be David Bernat which served as the teams pitching coach before signing a professional baseball contract 4 weeks into the season.

Coach Hunton will have the opportunity to be reunited with some of his 2007 players that will be moving up in age brackets."The goal for coach Hunton is to build upon the success enjoyed by coach Patterson in 2007. "We feel the 2007 Bluesox 18's was a very solid ballclub and now the goal is to make the Bluesox a Championship level ballclub as well as a ballclub that exposes the players to great college and pro opportunities"says Founder Emilio Fernandez.

The Florida Bombers organization is proud to make these two major announcements as the program has already started working towards a more successfull 2008.

The Florida Bombers debuted in fashion at the Mickey Mantle World Series .The Florida Bombers won the Homerun Derby / Hitters Challenge , as well as the Outfield team relay.
Bombers Danny Canela and Jay Laurienzo combined to bring home the hitters challenge for the Florida Bombers. Canela won the individual award by outhitting everyone else at the event.
The Bombers open up Mickey Mantle play versus the Dallas Tigers at 4:00 P.M. Wednesday.

Congratulations to the Bombers for winning the Hitters challenge as well as the OF Team Relay.

The Florida Bombers 18's were defeated twice at the Florida State Championship to end their run of 6 straight Southeast Regional berths. In 2006 the Bombers advanced to the Southeast Regionals after placing 3rd at the State Championship. In 2007 the Bombers placed 4th at the State Tournament and did not advance. After a round 1 win over the SF Elite by a score of 14-0 the Bombers dropped back to back games despite having leads in both games heading into the 5th Inning. "I think we had a solid year , but obviously we set out to get to the World Series and we did not do that, I just think the injuries wore on us and it showed at the State tournament , but we have received 9 commitments from players on this years team that are  ready to to get the Bombers back on top"says coach Fernandez.
The Bombers were without Tyler Thompson  and Yasel Gomez both hurt during the final 2 games and Bombers 1B Javi Sujo played at about 25 % percent. Between those 3 players the Bombers were missing 18 Homeruns .
"We went to the toughest state tournament in the country and we went in banged up, we will regroup for the 2008 season and win the State tournament ,we will never advance to the World Series through the back door , we will either advance or not advance through our state and regional tournament "says coach Fernandez.
The Bombers finished the 2007 season with a (27-7-1) record thats a .784 winning percentage not bad for a season.
The Bombers brought home the 2007 Florida Bombers Memorial Weekend Tournament as well as the UCF Invitational.Among other accomplishments the Bombers organization produced more Division 1 signees in 2007.The 2007 Season also saw Andrew Durden break Willy Hernandez franchise record 20 game hitting streak. Durden actually shattered the old mark with a 25 game hitting streak and a new franchise record. Congratulations to Andrew Durden for his tremendous accomplishment.

2007/18U National Championship (July 3-9)

The big question with the 18U will be “Can any team beat the Florida Bombers?”  The Bombers have won the event four of the five years it’s been held, with the streak interrupted only by the South Carolina Diamond Devils in 2004.  The Diamond Devils team that year entered the championship round as the last of the 16 seeded teams but rode talents such as C-RHP Matt Wieters (Cubs, 1st round, 2007) and 1B Justin Smoak (probable 2008 1st rounder) to the championship.

While the Bombers have featured their share of top prospects, the key to their continued success has always been a deep pitching staff comprised mostly of Miami area pitchers and excellent defense.  So while there may be teams with more highly acclaimed prospects on their rosters to start the tournament, the Bombers will be the event favorite until someone beats them on the field.

As much as any event on the WWBA schedule, the 18U championship lends itself to unheralded teams making strong championship runs.  In 2003 it was the Indiana Yankees and their shortstop Eric Campbell (now a top Braves prospect).  In 2004 it was the Diamond Devils.  Last year, the Florida Magic behind championship MVP 3B Gary Gustavson made an improbable run all the way to the championship game before they lost to the Bombers.

It would take too long to list all the future first round draft choices that have played in the 18U championships over the past five years.  Some of the future Major Leaguers who have performed in front of the hundreds of scouts and college coaches include C Brian McCann (East Cobb Tigers), RHP Brandon Morrow (NorCal), LHP Scott Kazmir (PG Gold), OF Jeremy Hermida (East Cobb Yankees), RHP Zack Greinke (Team Florida USA), LHP John Danks (Austin Baseball Club), RHP Matt Capps (East Cobb Yankees), OF Billy Butler (Jacksonville Royals), RHP Jonathan Broxton (Diamondplex A’s), OF Lastings Milledge (PG Blue), LHP Andrew Miller (PG Blue), RHP Micah Owings (East Cobb Yankees), C Jarrod Saltalamacchia (PG Royal) and RHP Chad Billingsley (PG Blue).

On Tuesday the Bombers defeated the Orlando Scorpions and the Weston Whitesox to complete a Double Header sweep and move their record to (15-2) on the year.
In game 1 the Bombers defeated the Orlando Scorpions by a score of 7-2. Andrew Durden got things going with a 3 Run Homerun in the 1st Inning, that was Durdens (3)rd Homerun of the year.Andres Diaz added a 2 Run Homerun his (2)nd of the year.In the bottom of the 2nd Inning Logan Thompson and Tyler Pastornicky went back to back connecting on solo Homeruns. It was Logans (1)st of the year and Pastornicky (2)nd on the year. Raiko Alfonso added 2 Hits. Pastornicky finished with 2 Hits and 2 Runs Scored.
Joey Housey (3-0) got the win pitching 4 Innings and Strikingout 3.
Glen Troyanowski got the 3 Inning Save (2)nd on the year.Troyanowski pitched 3 Innings Strikingout 3.

In Game 2 the Bombers defeated the Weston Whitesox by a score of 20-0. The Bombers move to (15-2) on the year . The (15-2) record is the same identical record the Bombers had in 2006 at the same point in the season.
Raiko Alfonso connected on a 2 Run Homerun his (1)st of the year. Alfonso finished 2 for 3 with 3 Runs Scored and 2 RBI'S.
Andrew Durden finished with a Double a Single and 3 RBI'S and 2 Runs Scored.Joel Carranza was 2 for 2 with 2 Doubles and 3 RBI'S. Jose Rodriguez added 2 Doubles and 5 RBI'S. Andres Diaz added an RBI Double. Tyler Pastornicky was 1 for 1 with 3 SB and 3 Runs Scored.
Craig Gullickson now (3-0) got the win Pitching 3 Innings Strikingout 4. Travis Miller combined on the shutout pitching 2 Innings Strikingout 3 .

After a 5 hour bus ride the Florida Bombers stepped of the bus and won back to back games at the UCF tournament to improve their record to (10-1) on the season. In game 1 the Bombers defeated one of the best teams in the country the Orlando Scorpions by a score of 8-5 in 8 Innings. Trailing 5-4 heading into the top of the 7th Inning the Bombers tied the game and scored 3 runs in the top of the 8th Inning to down the Scorpions.
In game 1 Logan Thompson had the go ahead RBI Single in the top of the 8th Inning. Tyler Thompson added a 2 RBI Double to extend the lead to 8-5.Andrew Durden was 2 for 2 with 2 Runs Scored. Eric Doty pitched the final 2 Innings to earn the win.

In game 2 the Bombers defeated the Scorpions Grey team by a score of 7-3. Tyler Thompson was 2 for 3 with 1 Triple 1  RBI and 1 SB.Andrew Durden was 3 for 4 with 3 RBI'S and 1 RS.
Kyle Allen added an RBI Double. Logan Thompson added a Double. Sophomore RHP Jacob Johnson pitched 5 Innings to earn the win. Roger Fernandez pitched 2 Innings to earn the save (1).

Florida Bombers State of the Program



In 2007 the Florida Bombers will venture on a new voyage, with a growing organization the Bombers are anxious to get things going.
The organization opens up the season Friday at 5:00 P.M. with the Bombers Bluesox 16's hosting the Florida Pokers 16's at Westminster Academy.That game will be followed by the season opener of the Florida Bombers 16's hosting the SF Elite at 7:30 P.M. at Academy.
Saturday the Bomber Bluesox 18's get their season going by hosting the Brevard Stars at 4:00 P.M.
at 7:00 P.M. the Florida Bombers 18's open up their season versus the Stars.
Sunday the Bomber Braves kick things of versus the Florida Pokers 17's at 11:00 A.M., and the Bomber Brewers will open up their season on Memorial Weekend.
"We cant wait till Friday , we have had alot of haters out there saying we were done but, in reality we are stronger and bigger than ever and Friday is the start of all"says coach Braithwaite.
The Florida Bombers have grown 6 fold in 2007, currently the Bombers organization has 150 players to go with 15 coaches on payroll . "There are times in life when things seem bleak and dark only to find sunshine and paradise the next day , thanks to what happened we have been able to get to the point we are now, I thank the man up above every  day for what happened and where we are today"says coach Fernandez.
"I look back at the days we used to play at Killian Highschool and I see where we are today playing at a multimillion dollar complex, it shows the growth and tradition of the Florida Bombers"says coach Fernandez.

What has changed with the Florida Bombers ?

- The Florida Bombers now have 6 teams in the organization as opposed to only 1 team in past years.
- The Florida Bombers have over 150 players in the program as opposed to 25
- The Florida Bombers have giving employment opportunities to 15 coaches as opposed to 3
- The Florida Bombers now play out of a multimillion dollar complex
- Coaches salaries have increased
- The Florida Bombers now have a host home where all of its coaches and players call home during the   season
- The Florida Bombers Home games are live on the internet
- The Florida Bombers are now associated with 5 different governing associations
- The Florida Bombers now have a Baseball office where they conduct all of their daily operations
- Most importantly no one in the organization has to answer to suits

"None of this would be possible without the work of Aaron Braithwaite, Rudy Camejo, Scott Patterson, Josh Starr , and Bart Hunton and the departure of the old regime"says coach Fernandez.

The Florida Bombers have had alot to overcome this past offseason . "Alot of different people tried to bring us down by saying things that were not true fortunately for us our new coaches and personal believed in what we were doing and we were able to overcome all the negative things our competitors put out there"says coach Fernandez.

Friday everything unfolds for the coaches and players of the organization, the road to many different National Championships start Friday with a WWBA National title and 2 different AABC National titles being the ultimate goal.

The Florida Bombers have agreed to terms with the Westminster Academy Baseball complex for the 2007 season and beyond. The Florida Bombers Organization is proud to call Westminster Academy home. The baseball complex at Westminster Academy features 2 top notch baseball fields . "We want to make Westminster our East Cobb Complex says coach Fernandez , we will play all of our teams out of Westminster which is something we were looking for, this is a great day in our program for the present as well as the future".
The Bombers have been playing out of Barry University for the past 2 seasons. " Barry was great to us and for us but , we just out grow Barry and we needed a place with more fields "says VP Aaron Braithwate.
"This is just the beginning we have very big plans for this organization in the years to come , and solidifying a complex was one of the most important steps "says President Emilio Fernandez.

The Bombers program opens up the 2007 season on May 18 with the 16's Bluesox taking on the 16's Florida Pokers.

We would like to take this moment and thank Barry University and their coaching staff for giving us a first class experience the last two seasons. A special thanks to Ray and coach Pavo from the Florida Bombers.

The Bombers have gotten a commitment from Arthur Strauss, 6'2 RHP, from Birmingham, Alabama. Strauss is the 73rd ranked prospect in the 2009 class.  Arthur pitches between 86-89, with great command of three pitches.  Coach Braithwaite said “We are glad to have Arthur in our program; I believe he will have a great career within the bombers organization.  I believe this kid is just going to keep on getting better."

Jacob Johnson and Kyle Mckenzie have both broke into the top 150 prospects for the class of 2009, as predicted by coach Bratihwaite.  Jacob Johnson has moved into the 122th spot. Kyle Mckenzie has moved into the 129th spot.  Coach Braithwaite said, " Rankings are not everything, but it gives these athletes a sense of accomplishment. I know these guys will push even harder to brake the top hundred."

The Florida Bombers 16's have received a commitment from AndresWiltz. Andres Wiltz is a 6'1 RHP, who pitches between 85-88, with a outstanding change-up and breaking ball. Andres shows great command of all three of his pitches. Coach Braithwaite said, " Wiltz will be one of our go to guys this Summer. Andres comes from a great high school program at Belen. They do a great job of developing student-athletes."

The Florida Bombers 16's have received commitments from Casey Mulholland and Josiel Garcia. Casey Mulholland is a 6'3 RHP/OF from IMG Academy, who pitches between 86-89, with a excellent breaking ball and outstanding change-up. Mullholand offensively shows great bat speed, and plus power. Josiel Garcia is 5'11 OF/LHP from Brito High School, who has 7.0 speed, a great approach at the plate, great outfield instincts along with above average arm strength. On the mound, Garcia pitches between 82-84. Coach Fundora says " These 2 kids will be among the best players in the country in the 2010 class.

The bombers 16's have gotten commitments from Jacob Johnson and Kyle Mckenzie.  Jacob is a 6'2 RHP from Lakeworth, FL, who pitches between 84-87, with a plus slider and change-up. Johnson is currently the 25th ranked player in the State of Florida and the 205th ranked player in the class of 2009. Mckenzie is a 5-11 RHP-INF, with excellent defensive skills and a great approach at the plate.  On the mound, Kyle pitches between 85-88 with excellent command and a "VERY" sharp breaking ball.  Kyle is currently the 209th ranked player in the class of 2009.  Coach Braithwaite said, "Look for both of these guys to take a gradual leap in the rankings over the course of this high school season.  I personally feel like both Jacob and Kyle are two athletes that are a lot more talented than there rankings may suggest."

Andy Hernandez has been named the head coach of the Expansion 18 and under Florida Bombers. Andy Hernandez will coach the Bomber Bluesocks in their inaugural season in 2007.Coach Hernandez is a former Florida Bomber player. Coach Hernandez played for the Bombers in the 1999 season. "We welcome coach Hernandez to the organization, we feel Andy is a baseball guy that has stayed involved with the game he will do a great job with this club."says President Emilio Fernandez.
The Bomber Bluesocks will play a National schedule and compete in a National Affiliation. Players on the Bluesocks will have the opportunity to be called up to the Florida Bombers based on performance and team needs. The Bomber Bluesocks will be a competitive team that will be as good as any other local team in South Florida . The Bluesocks will compete with other local teams such as the Miami Powerhouse , Florida Pokers etc.

Drew Sherwood became the first player in Bluesocks history to commit.
The Bluesocks welcome Drew to be the teams catalyst at the top of the order and patrol centerfield in 2007.

• Pastornicky Commits to the Florida Bombers
  
  Junior Infielder Tyler Pastornicky the Nations # 55 th ranked player has committed to play for the  Florida Bombers . Pastornicky is a Junior at IMG The Pendleton School. Tyler will be next in line of great Bomber players from the Pendleton School. "Following in the footsteps of Chris Perez and Paolo Espino wont be easy but, Tyler is the type of player that has made the Bombers the best program in the country"says coach Fernandez.
  Tyler is a 6.7 runner with great baseball instincts. Tyler comes from a baseball family as his father is currently the State of Florida scout for the Kansas City Royals.
  Pastornicky is 5"11 - 170  Tyler  is capable of playing all three infield positions and hes a good enough athlete to play in the outfield.

The Bombers 16's is also taking shape as Chris Braithwaite has been hired as an assistant coach to Head Coach Aaron Braithwaite. The Bombers have also hired Josh Starr to be the director of marketing and Corporate Sponsorships. Starr will also serve as a bench coach for the Bombers 16's."Since the changes Corporate Sponsorships have been booming and Josh will be in charge of that department he did a great job with the Homestead Stars last summer and i know he will do a great job for the Florida Bombers "says Emilio Fernandez.

The Florida Bombers completed the Double Header sweep of the Florida Pokers. With the win the Bombers won the series from the Pokers winning 2 out of  3. The Bombers defeated the Pokers by a score of 14-6 in Game 2 on Saturday. The Bombers now move to (13-2) on the year. Kentrail Davis led the Bombers going 4 for 4 with 2 Homeruns and 8 RBIS. Davis also added 4 Runs Scored and 1 SB.Davis Homered twice in the 1st Inning to tie a Bombers record with 2 Homeruns in 1 Inning. Eric Hosmer went 2 for 4 with 1 Double and 3 RBI'S.Nick Hernandez (1-0) picked up the win in relief pitching 3 scoreless Innings and Strikingout 5.

              The Florida Bombers Memorial Weekend Invitational is here and the field is set.10 top temas will be competing all weekend for the right to play in the Championship game Monday afternoon. Some of the nations top teams will be participating in this event " it will be a good field , we think it could be one of the strongest early season tournaments in the country "said tournament director Angel Herrera.
Friday morning at 9:00 A.M. at Barry University the Florida Pokers and the Miami Wave will kick things off. Friday will conclude with the Florida Bombers playing Team Orlando in the night game at 7:30 P.M.
The tournament will not only feature some very good teams , but it will also feature a Homerun Derby on Friday night. Also the tournament will feature awards for the Tournament MVP and the Cy Young pitcher of the tournament as well as an All Tournament Team selection.

Bombers Take the Nightcap

The Florida Bombers now (2-1) on the year defeated the Brevard Stars by a score of 2-1 in Game 2 of the Double Header. Closer Mike Mcgee (1-0) picked up the win in relief as he pitched 1 1/3 Innings Strikingout 2. Mcgee entered the game in the top of the 6th Inning with the bases loaded and 2 outs. Mcgee Struckout Brevard LF Slack to end the threat in the top of the 6th inning. DJ Jones sacrifice fly to deep center brought home Iden Nazario with the eventual game winning run.Eric Hosmer extended his hitting streak to 3 games going 1 for 2.


The Bombers will now be off till Friday as they will play Team Orlando in pool play of the Florida Bomber Memorial Weekend Invitational.

 Bombers No Hit the South Florida Rebels in their Season Opener

   The Florida Bombers opened up the 2006 season on a high note as the Bombers defeated the South Florida Rebels by a score of 8-1. Three Florida Bomber pitchers combined on a No Hitter. Anthony Nalepa (1-0) pitched 4 No Hit Innings Striking Out 7 . John Housey pitched 2 No Hit Innings Strikingout 3. Iden Nazario put the finishing touches on the No Hitter Strikingout the side in the top of the 7th Inning to preserve the No Hitter.
At the plate the Figueroa twins led the way as Cole Figueroa was 3 for 3 with a Triple, Double and 3 RBI'S in the season opener. Correy Figueroa was 2 for 2 with 1 RBI and 1 Run Scored.Eric Hosmer was 2 for 4 with 1 Double and 1 RBI.Ryan Jackson added a 2 RBI Single .Mike Mcgee added a Triple and 2 Runs Scored as the Bombers won their 7th Consecutive Season Opener.
The Bombers will be back in action tomorrow versus the Brevard Stars at 11:00 as part of a Double Header.

             The Florida Bombers are set to take the field Saturday night at 7:00 P.M. at Barry University versus the South Florida Rebels.The Bombers will follow Saturday nights opener with a Double header Sunday morning versus the Brevard Stars."We are very excited about this weekend , alot of work has been put into this club and we are anxious to see them play"says coach Fernandez.
Saturday will be the first step towards a Connie Mack National Championship."Its a long season alot of things happen ,we just want this team to come together as quick as possible and improve everyday so we can be in position at the end to get to Farmington"says coach Herrera.
The Bombers will see star CF DJ Jones in action for the first time this Saturday , Kentrail Davis will not be in the lineup this weekend as he will make his debut on June 2.
Anthony Nalepa will take the hill for the Bombers Saturday night, Nalepa is a 6"3 RHP . Nalepa is one of several returning Bombers from the 2005 Regional runner up squad, Nalepa has also committed to the University of Miami.
The Bombers will honor Cory and Cole Figueroa as part of the opening night ceremonies. The Figueroas will be receiving their 2005 WWBA Championship Rings as well as their Sam Torcise Award. The Sam Torcise Award is always giving to the Bomber or Bombers showing the most character and commitment towards the Bombers and towards life . The Sam Torcise award is named after Bomber owner Rick Torcise late father Sam. The Sam Torcise award is the most prestigious award handed out by the Bombers each summer.
           The excitement begins Saturday the anticipation for this season to finally start is here in less than 2 days the Bombers will begin their quest on becoming Connie Mack National Champions.

                         The 2006 season is upon us and with that comes expectations and hope as another Bomber season approaches.On Sunday the Bombers took the field for the first time since last July's regional loss to the East Cobb Yankees (3-1) to end their 2005 season.Sunday was very laid back with the new guys getting a feel for what the Bombers are all about, the returners looking forward to the long adventure ahead and the coaches anxious to see their offseason work unfold. The Bombers open up the 2006 season versus the Brevard Stars on Saturday May 20 at 7:00 P.M.
The 2006 Bombers might start as many as 7 new position players with 11 new pitchers joining the 2006 team.
"Its always a guessing game to see how things unfold , but we thought we saw some great things on day one and we are very excited about this team , we think this team can win a Connie Mack World Championship, let the games begin" says coach Herrera.
The Bombers will be back in action on Saturday May 6 at 1:00 P.M.

Catcher Buddy Munroe a senior at Columbus Highschool is the latest member of the Florida Bombers. Buddy has already committed to the University of Clemson. The 6"0 Munroe is regarded as the finest defensive catcher in South Florida.

        To play for the Florida Bombers as a sophomore is a pretty special task, to play as a sophomore and be productive is even more special. In 2006 the Bombers will carry a record number 6 sophomores that are expected to produce. "The thing about  these 6 guys is that they are really young , but they are really special"says coach Herrera.
There has been talk already that at least 3 of these sophomores might be First Round Picks in the 2008 draft."We feel really fortunate to have these 6 players in our program at such an early stage in their careers, we are excited about the present and extremely excited about the future"says coach Fernandez.

SS-3B    Harold Martinez  6"3  one of the top Infield prospects in the country if not the top infield prospect in the country

1B         Eric Hosmer  6"3    the 6"3 Left handed hitting Hosmer is regarded as one of the best pure hitters in the country

LHP      Mason Mcvay   6"5  Mcvay is a cant miss prospect who skies the limit for the LHP is currently in the 85-87 MPH Range comparisons of Andrew Miller abound

RHP      Kevin Youst     6"3   Youst is a 6"3 RHP with tremendous upside Youst is 86-89 with the ability to be 90 + very very soon

Catcher   Adrian Nieto  5"11  switch hitting catcher with an above average arm and above average power Nieto should be among the top catching prospects in his class

INF        Rolando Gomez  5"10  the LH Hitting Gomez is currently among the leader in all offensive categories in Broward county Gomez is a pure hitter with very good arm strength as well as being a solid 6.9 runner
