Florida District 9 Little League: Welcome

Serving the youth of Southwest Florida.

  • If children live with criticism, they learn to condemn.
  • If children live with hostility, they learn to fight.
  • If children live with fear, they learn to be apprehensive.
  • If children live with praise, they learn to like themselves.
  • If children live with recognition, they learn to have a goal.
  • If children live with honesty, they learn what trust is.

It's not always the Manager who wins the most that is the one who does the best job. The Manager who works to develop youngsters with little talent, who brings out consistency in more skilled players, and who teaches the lessons of life which carry into adulthood . . .although they have few awards to show for it, they ultimately are the most successful. Awards are soon forgotten, but the character instilled in children will last a lifetime.

Congratulations!!
Our own Florida District 9 Staff Umpire and Southeast Region Umpire Instructor Jeff Ward has been recommended to Umpire in the 2012 Little League Softball World Series in Portland, OR, starting on August 9th thru the 12th.  Jeff has been active in in umpiring and training for many years.  He is well deserving of this honor for his umpiring skill and commitment to Little League.  Thanks for all your hard work over the years Jeff and have a great time in Portland.
