It has been an exciting couple of weeks for the Flanagan baseball team. Several of the Falcons seniors are being recruited by major college programs and two have already made their decisions.

Corey Janson has verbally committed to Miami and centerfielder Geoffrey Jimenez has verbally committed to FAU.

Janson, a catcher, hit .382 last year with 13 RBI and two home runs during the regular season. He also received interest from Virginia Tech, Boston College and Columbia.

Jimenez, a speedy centerfielder, hit .290 with 21 runs and 14 RBI last year. He was also among county leaders with 15 stolen bases. He received interest from Florida, Appalachian State, Santa Fe College and Seminole Community College.

Falcons coach Ray Evans believes both players will fit in well with their respective colleges.

"Geoff is a centerfielder that can track balls down. He's really grown in his four years here and he does a tremendous job on the bases," he said. "He's a kid that will go through a wall for you."

"Corey's got a very strong arm and he's one of the top catchers in Broward County," Evans continued. "He can control the running game and being 6-foot-3, he's a great presence behind the plate."
