Picnic Thanks

Flagler County Senior Softball 16th Annual Family Picnic

Sunday, April 1st our picnic achieved the highest attendance in 16 years! Of the 162 people who signed up to attend, we thank the 124 who attended and enjoyed the day with us. Jack Healy presided over the "games" as usual, our thanks for keeping the "picnic spirit going".

The picnic would not have been a success with out the help of my wife Beth Corello, Ray Castrovinci, Tony Castrovinci, aka Tony, the burger man, Vince & Laurie Scumaci, aka all around helpers, Ben Gabriele, aka Ben G the dog man, Mike Venus (longtime friend) aka sausage man.  The peppers, onions & sausage were supplied by one of our sponsors, Larry's Italian Deli, they were homemade and delicious.

Again many thanks to all,

Charlie Corello

UPDATE ON THE FLORIDA STATE SOFTBALL CHAMPIONSHIPS!
UPDATE ON THE FLORIDA STATE SOFTBALL CHAMPIONSHIPS!

ESPN offers its apologies for omiting mention of Oasis Sharks team member Tom "Give ME the Damn Ball" Fleckenstein, in its latest update on the Senior Softball Championship. Tom was the starting pitcher for most of the Oasis Sharks run through their very tough bracket, and was spectacular at the plate. Tom's omission from the original article, in no way deminishes his contribution to the team.

When contacted by ESPN after the games about being omited from the original article Tom replied "Aw, things like this happen! I didn't even know we won till I was in the parking lot"!

Senior Softball Players Bill "Give Me the Damn Ball" Coonfield and Steve "Give Him the Damn Ball" Bolter, Playing with the Oasis Sharks, went undefeated and won the B bracket of the Florida State Championships on 12/3/11-12/4/11. Bill played a major roll in coming in and shuting the door on the opposition and was an offensive force at the plate. All of the teams in their bracket were ranked above them, but they prevailed anyway.

The Oasis Team then had to play the winner from the upper bracket and hung with them the entire game, but lost 28-20. Oasis scored 118 runs in the five games, and played stellar defense.

Bob Hughes playing with the Setting Sons won the C bracket of the tournament.

Congratulations to all!

Just the facts................
Investigative reporters Stan "Call me Champ" Cutler and Steve "Don't call me Flatfoot" Bolter went undercover at a recent Daytona Cubs game, because we were tired of the unfounded rumors circulating around the ballpark that our own Jim "Rounder Man" Ganci was "moonlighting" as Cubby, The Daytona Cubs mascot. This photograph serves as evidence that Ganci is NOT the affable and rotund Cubby. While both Cubby and Ganci have many similar features it can be clearly noted in the photograph that Cubby's head is much smaller than Ganci's and Cubby is a good head taller.

Stan and I, a/k/a The Hardy Boys, eagerly await our next assignment.    The Bolt
