Congratulations Are In Order......

Louie Angelotti
of Woodville Little League and Ron White of Chaires-Capitola Little League have been selected to umpire the Senior (15-16 yr old) Softball Regional Little League Tournament in Ft. Myers, FL in July.  Mike George of Northwest Leon Little League has also been selected to umpire Little League (11-12 yr old) Softball Regional Little League Tournament in Warner Robins, GA.  More information is forthcoming but we wanted to recognize them at this time for their many years of volunteer service and for receiving this distinguished honor.  Great work, Louie, Ron, and Mike!!

Composite Baseball Bats
A study recently conducted by Little League International on composite bats has brought sweeping changes to Little League Baseball.  The use of composite bats for ALL divisions of baseball (softball is not affected by this ruling) is prohibited starting in the 2011 season.  More info can be found
here

Becoming a Volunteer Umpire
Little League Volunteer Umpires are needed in every league.  For those wanting to learn more about umpiring, Little League has created a website that contains a treasure trove of information.  The site is FREE.  Go

In Memory....

Wednesday, Dec 27, 2011
It is with deep sadness we announce the passing of Joseph (Joe) V. Herold. Joe was a long time volunteer with Miccosukee Little League where he served in many capacities during his time there. Over the years he served as coach and inspired the youth in his community to become better athletes and citizens. He also served on the Miccosukee Little League Board of Directors for several years. Joe is most remembered for his umpire role that he passionately served in for much of his volunteer years. Having attended several umpire clincs, Joe was very committed to bettering his umpire skills and giving that added value to his league and its participants.

Joe, we miss you already!
