WELCOME to First String "A Community Team," Inc.!

Congratulations to Creative Marble for an outstanding season! Creative Marble finished second in The Twin City Tournament in a very close game in which they lost by only 1 point. Awesome work!! Thank you to Coach Reggie Jones and Assistant Coaches Shawn "Bundy" Green, Jewel White, and Anthony Allen! Without their leadership and encouragement, the boys would not have gone as far as they did or accomplished all they did. Thank you for your time and dedication!

First String, Inc. would also like to thank the coaching staff of all other divisions for their dedication to the program and for working hard to make certain the kids enjoyed a wonderful baseball season. Not everything went as smoothly as we would have liked, but we look forward to next season as another opportunity to get things right.

Thank you to all volunteers who worked concessions, the grill, the scoreboard, and handled field maintenance. Without your help the program would not have been as successful as it was. As you know, First String's concessions are the BEST in all of Champaign-Urbana, and the food is the number one attraction for many who come out during the baseball season. Thank you to Joann ("Ann" to most) for your work as the Head of Concessions - YOU ROCK - and to Mother McFarland, as she is affectionately known, who is always there at her station ready to make sure the meat is wrapped and ready to go, and for keeping everybody in line who crosses the concession room doors :) - this wouldn't be the same without you! Of course, we cannot forgot our grilling masters who make sure the burgers, dogs, and of course those polishes are grilled to perfection - You're the best, guys!! Here's to next season!

For all those who are still interested in going to the White Sox game on July 23rd, there is still time to sign-up. However, seats on the bus are filling up fast, so you will need to get the sign-up sheet and monies to either Peter McFarland or John Cooper as soon as possible. If you delay too long, you will miss out on this wonderful opportunity. Sign-up is $35 per athlete and a parent/guardian must accompany youth 8-years old or younger. Please contact Peter McFarland at 417-4331 or John Cooper at 202-8244 with questions or to arrange plans to get your monies and sign-up sheets in. Again, do not delay, the time is fast approaching!
