The 14u Firecracker Fury Gold are hosting a PONY National Qualifying Tournament on the weekend of May 21st 2010.

We are running 12u and 14u age divisions, with Tournament sites in Nashua and Hudson. The highlighted link above will bring you to the PONY website where you will need to register for the tournament.  Click on the Tournament Search page(left menu) once you are in the PONY site from the link above to find the Firecracker Spring Blast Tournament.

The tournament will be a 3 pool game, seeding into a single elimination format.  The winner and runner-up of each age division will be awarded a berth into the PONY National Tournament held in Cary, North Carolina from 7/16-7/23....

We have 28 registered teams from 6 different states! 

We have partnered with the Radisson Nashua Hotel, on Spit Brook Road, as the Tournament Hotel. They have given us a $99 group rate which is great rate for this hotel. The 14u Firecracker Fury won the 16u Halloween Bash in Plainville this weekend in a very impressive fashion.  This was the ladies 4 straight Championship, with 3 of those being 16u Tournaments.  The pitching and defense were unbelieveable all weekend.  Alyssa Williamson, Mackenzie Marr, Brittany Camara and Allie Nolan were fantastic, allowing only 6 runs all weekend highlighted by MacKenzie Marr's 7 inning 1 hit, no walk 7 k's where she faced the minimum 21 in the Semi-Final against the 2nd yr 16u Central Mass Thunder!  Alyssa was awesome in the Championship game, going 6 strong innings, limiting the Taunton Dynamites to 3 hits over 6 innings.

The defense was superb, with Brooke Hardy, Gianna Hathaway, Brittany Camara, and Kenzie McCabe playing nasty infield defense and Chelsea Caynon and Sarah Drazin flagging down everything in the outfield.  Brittany McNulla was once again a stud behind the plate!  Missing Mac Kerouac(awesome day on Saturday) and Chels Drew, the ladies showed there is no let up in the lineup, as they outscored the opposition 36-6 to wrap up the Fall with a 25-2-1 record in 5 tournaments(4 16u's), in which they won 4 and lost the Championship game in the other. 

Congratulations! and we are looking forward to some special things in 2010!!!

The 14u Firecracker Fury stayed unbeaten over their last 3 tournaments going 4-0 to earn the #1 seed and give them the Championship as the tournament was cut short with the surprising mid-October Nor' Easter....The ladies continued their excellent play across the board with 2 more shutouts and allowing only 3 runs in the 4 games while scoring 29.  The defense turned 4 double plays highlighted by the 4-6-3(Chels, Brooke, Blondie) to end the sixth inning and prevent the tying run from scoring against the Comets.

Congrats also to Ray's 14 Fury Red that took home the 14u title to make it a Firecracker Fury sweep at the Monster Bash!

One more tourney to go, the 16u Halloween Bash in Plainville...

The 14u Firecracker Fury won the Halloween Fright Fest with a combination of great hitting, defense and shutdown pitching to go undefeated for the second straight tournament.

Going up against some of the top teams for the New York and New Jersey area, the Fury made the trip worthwhile by smoking the ball all weekend.  Every player had big hits and made the plays in the field as the ladies battled every at bat and every out.  The pool games were against the Orange County Cyclones(7-1), the host Brewster Rockets(5-4) and the North Jersey Avalanche(14-0).

Sunday's elimination games started with the Black Widows(10-0) and follwed with a rematch against the Avalanche(11-1) and the final was against the Newburgh Lady Vikings(9-1)

The Brewster Rockets put on a great tournament including the Hayride and Haunted House that everyone is still talking about.

The 14u Firecracker Fury poured it on in Chelmsford this weekend in cruising to the title, with a display of offense, pitching and defense that was spectacular.  Every player played great the whole tournament and it was a total team effort from start to finish.  In a true display of how well the team is playing, the ladies mercied all 3 elimination games in route to the Championship!

Next up is the Halloween Fright Fest in Brewster, N.Y on Columbus Day weekend, where the ladies will playing at our 14u age level against some of the top teams from the east, including some familiar faces from past PONY Nationals so it's sure to be a great challenge.

The Firecracker Fury 14u team stepped up to battle the 16u teams and showed they were ready to handle the challenge.  The Final was a 2-0 battle against the Gators that was a good game throughout, and quite a pitchers duel.  Alyssa Williamson and MacKenzie Marr were great all weekend, and in this game in particular as the Gators were a great hitting team and they, along with some stellar defense kept them at bay for most of the game.

Every player contributed all weekend, and there were some big highlights including Mac's game winner in the bottom of the 6th in the Semi-Final against the NH Comets, Brooke's diving catch on Saturday, Chelsea Caynon and Chelsey Drew going deep against the Firestars, and Allie Nolan striking out 8 of the 9 batters she faced against the New England Fire.  Brittany McNulla was a warrior behind the plate all weekend, catching 5 of the 6 games. 

Next up is the Bandits Autumn Bash double elimination tourney this weekend, with the Fury stepping up to play 16u again.

The Fury has reloaded and looking forward to another successful campaign in the Fall 2009 and the 2010 Spring/Summer Season.
