Fairfax Fletcher Westford Little League: Spring Season Divisions

Tee Ball
This division is designed to introduce players to the game of baseball while focusing on the basic fundamentals of throwing, fielding and hitting while learning a team concept. In the early part of the season, a T will be used for players to hit the ball off. As the season progresses, and skills are developed, coaches will step in and pitch to players who are ready. There will be no player pitching in this division. Coaches are permitted on the field to reinforce defensive positions. (Ages 5-6)

Farm League Baseball
This division is an entry level to organized competitive baseball. Early on, coaches will pitch to players, and if they have difficulty hitting, a T will be brought in. Part way through the season, players will begin pitching. If there is difficulty hitting, the coach will step in. There will be no walks at this level. Fielding skills are developed as well. A higher level of commitment is expected at the Farm League level than CP/TB. (Ages 7-8)

Farm League Softball
This division is primarily instructive and designed to teach the fundamentals of softball. Batting skills will be developed progressively throughout the season using a combination of coaches pitch and batting tee as needed. Player pitching will be encouraged by season end. Travel to surrounding towns will be required. (Ages 7-8)

Minor Softball
Team play focusing on game rules, more directed skill sets and sportsmanship. Players will pitch to batters. (Ages 9-10)

Minor Baseball
Team play focusing on game rules, more directed skill sets and sportsmanship. Players will pitch to batters.(Ages 9-10)

Major Softball
Competitive team play against local area divisional teams. (Ages 11-12)

Major Baseball
Competitive team play against local area divisional teams. (Ages 11-12)
