Welcome to the Falcons Wrestling Club
Although the official IKWF folkstyle season is over for many, there are still many wrestling opportunities. Review the handout provided at the banquet.
CONGRATULATIONS TO FALCONS AT STATE TOURNAMENTS!
A job well-done by all the Falcons and especially the following wrestlers at this year's individual state championships:
IKWF Novice- Senior Division
Brian Rossi - 3rd place in state
Sean Sibley - 7th place in state
Intermediate Division
Cody Ralston - 3rd place in state
Trevor Schmidt - 4th place in state
Cameron Lopez - 8th place in state
Bantam Division
Paul Keane - 1st place in state
Luke Soltis - 5th place in state
Noah Alsguson - 8th place in state
Congratulations to Falcons for Team Tournament Victories
What a Year! We’ve never had as many trophies as we earned this year! The Falcons won the first place team trophy at the Lincoln-Way Central Tournament. This was followed the next week with a second place team trophy at the Oak Forest Tournament that had well over 700 wrestlers.
On February 22, we also took home the 2nd place team trophy from the Pontiac Tournament, in spite of not having available a number of our quality starters and just missing (2 pts.) 1st place. Congratulations are also in order for the Falcons Intermediate Dual Team 6th place state finish. The Falcons earned another big team trophy and individual medals were provided to each team member, consisting of Cameron Lopez, Jacob Safarik, Trevor Schmidt, Cody Ralston, Tyler Mahy, Jack Chasteen, Jack Mankiewicz, Matt Breitbarth, Dylan Conway, Hunter Lang, Brendan Sullivan, Brock Marshall, Luke Soltis, Cole Cunningham and Shane Kenny. Earning all-tournament honors and individual trophies for being undefeated were Cody Ralston, Trevor Schmidt and Cameron Lopez. Jack Chasteen was selected as team OW (Outstanding Wrestler) for only losing 1 match and having 2 pins --while wrestling up nearly 2 weight classes.
Then at the Regional, we just missed sweeping all three divisions that team points were tallied on. As it turned out we took 1st place in Senior Division, 1st place in Intermediate Division and 2nd place in Novice Division.

Parents and Coaches did a Great Job in Running the Beast of the East Tournament
We haven't had a tournament in 5 years, but everyone came through without missing a beat. We received many favorable comments from the teams that attended (approximately 30 teams from three states). 1st place team was Gomez Wrestling Academy; 2nd was Southside Stallions; 3rd (in a one point difference with Zee Bee Stingers of Zion, IL) was the Lemont Bears. As the host club, the Falcons didn't keep team points but would have highly scored.
FALCONS RECOGNIZED BY HIGH SCHOOLS
On Friday, December 5, Lincoln-Way East wrestled Lincoln-Way North at North. At the meet, the Falcons Wrestling Club was recognized for having helped and helping the L-W East and L-W North wrestling programs.

REMEMBER: To be early is to be on-time; to be on-time is to be late; and to be late is...well, really late. Be dressed (shoes on and tied) and ready to go in the room at the appointed times.
SINGLET COLLECTION: Make sure you turn in your singlet to Coach Joe, Coach Gary Vignasse or Coach Ray within one week from your season’s conclusion. If we do not receive your singlets by March 24, 2009, we will negotiate the check provided for the singlet deposit.

The Falcons Wrestling Club is the only club in and sanctioned by Lincoln-Way East and North, though registration is by no means limited to District boundaries. The Falcons have won multiple titles in every age-based division and have had numerous state medal winners.
Membership includes: USAW membership and insurance, IKWF membership, Tee shirts, elite instruction, drilling, and live wrestling 4 days each week, Illinois and national tournaments, Guest clinicians who in the past have included Olympic Silver Medalist, 2X NCAA Champ, 3X Big Ten Champ, 2X World Cup and Pan Am Gold Medalist,, 2X NCAA All-American, Russian National Champ, and other NCAA All Americans.
