The club is owned and operated by vested members who manage all aspects of the clubs operation.

SSTA captures inaugural Strickman Cup in 2008
FALL RIVER - The Somerset-Swansea Tennis Association captured the inaugural Strickman Cup, a six-team competition hosted by the Fall River Community Tennis Association on the clay courts at the Fetherdic Tennis Club.
After receiving an opening round bye, the SSTA team defeated the Fall River CTA team in the semifinals and then nipped the Fetherdic Club, 3-2, in the championship match. The six-team event also included the Lakeville Athletic Club, the Fairhaven Tennis Association and the Mattapoisett Community Tennis Assocation. The cup is named in honor of the late Leo Strickman, a longtime promoter of tennis in the area who was an organizer of the old Fall River Tennis Association and boys tennis coach at Bishop Connolly High School.
Craig Hall and Mike Machado played in the singles positions for the SSTA team. The doubles teams included team captain Rick Dubois and Carlos Alves, the brother-sister tandem of Ben Holt and Kayleigh Holt, plus Keith Dubois and Aaron Silvia.
"For a first-year competition, things went very well," said Jeff Chace, president of the Fall River CTA. "There were a lot of competitive matches, the players seemed to enjoy themselves and the team format was a big hit. We hope to make it an even bigger event in future years."
