SKV Participants -- Busy week, but we think we are ready for you… Here’s an update….
Pool Play Update -
Most of the schedules are final, we are still working with the 11u schedule as a team dropped last minute and we are working for a replacement team or a schedule change, please let us know if you know a team interested in joining late. This is the only division with availability.
We appreciate everyone's patience and input; we were able to work through a series of minor scheduling snafus, and thanks to a few teams for their flexibility to keep things running smoothly. There have been a few changes to the original schedules, we ask if you have printed down the originals to make sure and get a copy of the “final” version as opposed to an early version.
Now that you have your schedules (for the most part), I ask you to turn your attention to making sure you are clear on the location for each of your games, we have provided an excellent map to help you find your way. Please let us know if you have any questions. Directions to the fields. If you have to travel from one game to another back to back, (a few instances, not many), we ask that you travel safely and calmly to the next location, our staff will be aware and responsive to starts that are a few minutes late in these cases.
Also, please use your last practice to spend some time on your decision for the “Knight of Competition”, try to give each player on your roster at least one event to participate in, and we limit any participant to 2 events. Please see the rules for the events. Also please have your form completed ahead of time and know what field you are at for the Knight of Competition.
For the 8u,9u,13u,14u,15u, this will be located at the Federal Way National Complex on Saturday (7/25) from 330pm to 530pm.
The 10u,11u,12u, "Knight of Competition" will be at Underwood Park in DesMoines at the same time.
There are no scheduled games during the competition, once the competition is over the playoff elimination brackets begin on Saturday night. Updates will be posted on line, at the Complex and at Underwood on Saturday night. You will have time to go from the "Knight of Competition" to your first playoff game if you are playing Saturday night.
TEE SHIRTS –
Every participant in SKV is receiving a 2009 Washington Games tee-shirt. Your coach will receive the team shirts during your first game. We made the best estimates that we could with the sizing provided to try and ensure a high percentage of good fits. But we won’t be 100%, we can try and do some size exchanges, but we have a limited supply on hand. Enjoy the shirts, they are complements of the Washington Games and Subway (EAT FRESH!).
Sportsmanship Medals
Knights volunteers will be on the lookout for examples of excellence in sportsmanship this coming week. We will be rewarding mainly fans, siblings, parents, and also players and coaches. If you or one of your kids is honored with a sportsmanship medal this week, we ask that you wear it with pride. That’s what it’s all about with the Washington Games and the Federal Way Knights and we look forward to the same from the teams in our event!

2009 SKV Participants --
Welcome to SKV, we are at 72 teams for the event and excited to have so may teams returning for our 5th year!! Please find some important information pertaining to your pool play schedules listed below.
There may still be some minor modifications to the schedules -- they will be "FINAL" on Monday 7/20.
The 11u and 12u divisions are not yet posted as they are not yet sold out, and that registration will close on Sunday 7/19. If all 11's or 12's would like a tentative feeling for their schedule they can email John Sugg at john@erniescardlock.com or call 253-303-1782. But anything prior to Sunday will be tentative. Teams traveling an overnight distance in the 11's and 12's will not be playing Thursday games.
Schedules were written taking into account travel schedules based on distance, multiple teams from a club wanting staggered times, and general requests. Some but not all requests were able to be accomodated.
We appreciate everyone's patience and we are pleased to have this distributed so early compared to most events of this size.
Please keep in mind that our fun "Knight of Competition" will take place at 2 locations this year.
