Fayette County Youth Softball Association: Coaches Info
This page is dedicated to information the coaches need to know. For the Coaches we have emails address for we will typically send this information by email in addition to putting a copy on this page. If you don't have email, this is the best way to keep up with information as it's updated.
Pull Up Verification
FCYSA Coaches - According to the rules all pull up players names have to be given to the Board Member on Duty at the park you are playing in and to the opposing coach before the game begins. All three should agree on the eligibility of the players at that time. Please make sure this step is done before attempting to use any players that are not currently on your roster. If you have any questions please contact your age group coordinator.
Background Checks
Background Check’s are required for all coaches and their assistants. You must have a form turned in to the Fayette County Recreation Center before you begin your team practices. We have copies of the form available or you can complete one at the recreation center location at Kiwanis Field on Redwine Road. The background checks are good for one year. As soon as possible, please supply your age group coordinator with a list to include your name and the name of all your assistants. This will be given to the County for confirmation. If there are any problems the County will notify the FCYSA Board.
Certification
Fayette County and the FCYSA By-Laws (2.3.2) require that all managers (head coaches only)be certified. Our certification is through NYSCA, National Youth Sport Coaches Association. Certification needs to be renewed every year. This can be done online at your convience at www.nays org. After that, you can sign a request for certification renewal through the FCYSA Board, only if done before your certification expires. Please notify your age group coordinator if you need to be certified or renewed. FCYSA will re-imburse(only for managers, not assistants) for the cost of training.
