Xmas comes early for Lea
Montrose came to Parkview and left with a valuable point from a game which should have seen full points to The Hoose, through inability to put chances away, and some poor defending. The Hoose almost took an early lead in 3 mns when a header hit the crossbar, 1 min later a good ball sent Fraser through but his shot was well saved by Scott Brunton. 8mns and Ally G had a great shot deflected past the upright. 1 minute later Jamie Gallacher headed over the bar. 10 mns played and Martyn ONeil beat two players and rounded McLeod to slide home 1-0 to The hoose. Fauldhouse continued to pound the Montrose defense, which produced some excellent saves from McLeod in the Montrose goal. 21mns and Bryan Felvus was through 1 on 1 with McLeod , the keeper made a good stop which came back out to Ally G who fired over the bar. 43 mns played and Fraser latched onto a through ball 2 yards offside but the ref let the game go on and Scott Brunton produced another good save.
51mns and Ally G crossed to Bryan Felvus his header was well saved by McLeod. 1 min later Bryan was through and tried to lob the keeper but Mcleod matched his effort. Fauldhouse were well on top and on the hour Ally G forced another fine save from McLeod.
Here we go 75mns and Jamie McKenzie tried to be clever and lost the ball to Mitchell who fired home 1-1. 85 mns and we saw a goal worth winning any game when Craig Meechan beat three players and fired an unstoppable shot from 25yds. 2-1 This game should have been over but in 89mns Again the defense gave away a stupid corner. It was fired across goal to Ralph Brand unmarked to hit the equaliser. just on time Kenny Martin hit a shot just wide of the post. Most definately a gift day for Montrose But we cannot keep missing chances and giving goals away.
