Champion Sports Events has teamed up with the Columbus, Georgia Sports Council to host our Fall Fastpitch Softball College Showcase and Player Showcase Camp. We are very excited about our 4th annual Field of Dreams – Summer Southern Showcase & Camp, scheduled for November 6 - 8 in Columbus, Georgia. We can not imagine a better location to have this event, than at the very site of the 1996 Olympic Games and many other notable events.
General Tournament Information:
A non-working UIC will be present during the tournament at all times
Only college level ASA certified umpires will be used for the tournament.
2 tournament directors will be present and available at all times
Team Registration:
Each teams registration fee will be $400.00
Gate fees will be $15 for adults, $10 for students 9-17 & seniors for the weekend.
Each team will be provided with 3 coach’s passes for free admission.
Teams will be required to submit a team profile for acceptance into the tournament, screening will be based on; team history, experience and the number of players that are 2009 and 2010 graduates.
Upon acceptance, teams will be required to pay the registration fee Please Submit to Champion Sports Events 120 Holly Springs Drive, Peachtree City, GA 30269.
When teams complete the registration process, the team will placed in their pool position on-line on a first come, first serve basis. Special accommodations must be requested at the time of entry.
Upon acceptance, teams will be required to submit the Team Registration Form found in the forms section. After Completion submit to softball@championsportsevents.com.
There will be no refund of registration fee’s after a team is accepted for any reason.
Player Showcase Camp:
Each player interested in attended the Player Showcase Camp must register using the camp registration form. Submit the completed form to camp at championsportsevents.com
The player registration fee will be $50.00
A special player profile magazine listing all players registered will be provided to all registered college coaches.
Each team will be provided with 3 coach’s passes for free admission.
Special Events:
A special recruiting opportunity will be provided on Friday & Saturday evening at 7:00PM “The Field of Dreams Allstar Games” at a cost of $50.00 per participate.
Each team will be ask to nominate 5 players, 1 pitcher, 1 catcher & 3 position players. A minimum of three players from each team will be selected based on need and ability to produce 20 All-Star teams.
Each team will play 2 games.
The games will be 7 innings, no time limit with standard ASA run rules.
The teams will be coached by guest coaches, made up of college level coaches.
College coaches and club team coaches will be allowed free admission by displaying coaching credentials provided by the tournament.
A special player profile magazine listing all players registered will be provided to all registered college coaches.
Tournament Format:
The format will be a 5 game guarantee with all games being pool games.
The pool games will be 80 minute time limit games or 7 innings, whichever comes first, pool games will be drop dead games, the winner will be decided by the score the last full inning played.
Standard ASA run rules will be in effect, except teams will be allowed free substitutions and unlimited number of players in the batting line-up.
The pitching distance will be 43 feet.
Each game will be scheduled every 90 minutes, leaving 10 minutes between each game.
Pool play will begin Friday morning at 8:00AM,
The final game will be scheduled for 3:00PM on Sunday afternoon.
In the event of in-climate weather the tournament will reserve the right to change the format at any time.
Vendors:
Several major manufacturers will be present during the event, the vendors will be placed through-out the park, some within the stadium and others between other fields.
Special Services:
Registered college coaches will be provided with discounted hotel rooms.
Arrangements for a Host Hotel have been made.
Access to player and team profiles on-line will be provided for college coaches.
Each college coach will be provided with a bound printed team and player profile package that includes game schedules.
On-line brackets updated though-out the tournament will be provided.
A text messaging system available to all registered participates, college coaches, club team coaches and fans will be provided. The system will broadcast alerts for game time changes, game results and weather updates.
